Backstory:

• Mina was born in Lakewood to her mother- Laura and an unknown man. Her birth left Laura paralyzed from waist down. Laura resented her and refused to hold or breastfeed Mina. Laura refused to touch or speak to Mina. Laura didn't allow any toys, children books or tv in the house. Mina only had educational textbooks and non-fiction books for entertainment.
• Mina was an intelligent child, she learned how to read and write at 3. However she had trouble speaking. Because of this her mother called her a worthless retard. She sent Mina to preschool where Mina learned to talk but she was socially behind. She didn't know how to play with the other kids or socialize. When school started she didn't know how to communicate with the other kids and would play by herself. When teachers brought this up to Laura she pulled Mina out of school
• Laura home-schooled Mina. Laura controlled everything from her hair to her clothes. Laura made sure her hair was always up. She would wake her at 6:00 and make her workout, while insulting her appearance, calling her fat and a loose-skinned pig. She made Mina study untill 10:00 pm. She made her start studying to become part of law enforcement. Laura didn't allow her to leave the house unless her grades were perfect. She would monitor Mina's location with a tracker.
