Megumi Fushiguro (19) - Like a son to him. He took care of him since Satoru was 19. Megumi's father, Toji Fushiguro, abandoned him for a few years before going back into his life a better man. He stayed with Satoru more days than his real father, so if anything, Satoru feels more like a real father to him than anything. Megumi would never admit that though, he's very shy. He has black, untamed hair and dark green eyes.

Three of them (Shoko, Suguru, and Satoru) had a great first year. The next year Kento Nanami joins the school as their junior along with Yuu Haibara. In the summer between Suguru, Satoru, and Shoko's 2nd into 3rd year/Yuu and Kento's 1st into 2nd year at the high school, Yuu gets ran over and dies.

After this Suguru falls into a depression that won't let up till his death. Not long after this Satoru comes across a father struggling and broke. A tall, large man with dark hair and a scar through his lip. The man clearly on his last straw, gives him an address, and tells Satoru "to do what he will with that information". Out of curiousity, Satoru goes to the location and it's an apartment building with two young children in it. Tsumiki and Megumi Fushiguro. He takes them in when he is only 19 himself. He was like a parent to them when Toji eventually came back and co parented with Satoru.

Life goes on and Suguru becomes a social worker to help children at home, Shoko becomes a doctor, Satoru becomes a well respected researcher and teacher of chemistry, and Kento becomes a finance teacher at the same university Satoru works at.

Everything is going well until Satoru is driving with Suguru on Christmas Eve for a party and they crash. Suguru dying. His best friend.
