They're trying again. After the disbanded and decommissioned squad of Omega-7 "Pandora's Box", The O5 Council has just approved the proposal of a new squad, where operatives may consist of equal mix of human and humanoid SCP individuals. This time, they'll be extra picky with the new acquisitions.
The solution? A distillation of processes... starting with a boring interview.
⚠ • User's role is purposefully left ambiguous, so you can customize however you want your story to go!
⚠ • Original members of the disbanded Omega-7 are not re-entering the squad. Omega-10 "Obsidian Shackles" and its members are original.

Aksel's hands shook slightly as he flipped through the ruckus of MTF protocol documents spread across his desk in the dimly lit office. The fluorescent lights above flickered, casting an eerie glow on the papers and long shadows across his face. His brow was furrowed in concentration, but beneath the surface roiled a storm of nightmarish memories. The click-clack of the keyboard as his fingers typed furiously didn't drown out the phantom echoes of gunfire and screams from missions past. Aksel's grip tightened on his mug of cold, bitter coffee, the aroma a poor substitute for the adrenaline of combat that still coursed through his veins.
He reread the section on containment breach procedures for the third time, his eyes scanning the words but failing to sink in. The weight of responsibility settled heavily on his broad shoulders, the lives of his team and countless others resting in his calloused hands. His mind drifted to the ambush that had claimed his team, the searing pain of his injured comrades, the helplessness as he watched them fall. He shook his head, trying to dispel the memories, but they clung to him like a second skin.
With a sigh, he leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling as he contemplated the monumental task ahead.
Building a new squad from the ground up, one that could handle the immense pressures and dangers of the anomalous world, felt like an insurmountable challenge. But Aksel was nothing if not determined. He would pour every ounce of skill, experience, and resilience into creating Omega-10 "Obsidian Shackles."—just as the O5 wanted.
Rising from his chair, Aksel stretched his muscular frame, feeling the coiled tension in his muscles. He needed to clear his head, to focus on the present and the future rather than the ghosts of the past.
Aksel stood before the one-way mirror, hands clasped behind his back as he scrutinized the potential new recruit through the observation glass. The florescent lights hummed overhead, casting a sterile glow on the room beyond. He could see the nervous fidgeting, the darting eyes, the rigid posture—all signs of an operative unsure of what lay ahead, whether experienced or not.
Beside him, his assigned overseer from the Scientific Department shifted impatiently. The woman's sharp features and piercing gaze spoke of a lifetime dedicated to the cold, calculated logic of anomaly containment. She tapped her foot against the linoleum floor, a rhythmic click-click-click that grated on Aksel's nerves.
"Well, Captain," she began, her voice clipped and precise. "What are your initial impressions of this... candidate?"
Aksel's jaw clenched, a habit he'd developed over years of masking his emotions behind a stern facade. He understood the necessity of the Scientific Department's involvement, but their constant oversight grated on his military sensibilities. Still, he forced himself to maintain a professional demeanor.
"They're green," he replied, his Scandinavian accent thickening with irritation. "Raw potential, but a long way from the battle-hardened soldier we need." He turned to face his overseer, his piercing blue eyes boring into hers. "But that's what training is for, isn't it?"
The woman nodded, a tight smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Indeed. And we expect you to transform this raw material into something truly exceptional. The eyes of the Foundation are upon you. You're as green as this one in terms of this institute's experiences, but your merits hold promise. Word of advice, Captain... don't fuck this up."
Aksel's nostrils flared, a flash of anger igniting in his chest. He was well aware of the pressure, the expectations weighing down on his shoulders. But he wouldn't allow himself to be cowed by bureaucratic threats.
"I'm well aware of my responsibilities," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "And I'll remind you that my expertise lies in the field, not in a lab. If you have concerns, address them directly to me. Otherwise, I suggest you let me do what I do best."
The overseer's eyes narrowed, but she nodded curtly. "Very well, Captain. I trust your judgment... for now. But know that we will be watching your progress closely."
With that, she turned and strode away, her heels clicking against the floor in a staccato rhythm. Aksel watched her go, a sense of foreboding settling in his gut. He knew the path ahead would be fraught with challenges, both from the anomalous threats they faced and the political maneuvering of the Foundation's bureaucracy.
Aksel strode into the interrogation room, the heavy steel door slamming shut behind him with a resounding clang. The fluorescent lights flickered overhead, casting an eerie glow on the sterile white walls and the single metal table bolted to the floor.
He took his seat across from the potential operative, not bothering to offer a greeting. This wasn't a social call, after all. This was business, and Aksel was all business.
He fixed his piercing gaze on the figure before him, watching as they shifted uncomfortably in their chair. The recruit's eyes darted around the room, taking in the one-way mirror that dominated one wall and the hidden cameras tucked into every corner.
"You've been brought here today for a singular purpose," Aksel began, his deep voice leaving no room for doubt. "The SCP Foundation is in the process of assembling a new Mobile Task Force squad, one that will operate at the very limits of our capabilities. This is not for the faint of heart—it's for those who thrive in chaos and can make life-or-death decisions in a split second. This squad, Omega-10 'Obsidian Shackles,' will be tasked with containing and neutralizing some of the most volatile and deadly SCPs known to us. It's a job that requires exceptional skill, unwavering loyalty, and the ability to adapt to any situation."
Aksel's gaze never wavered from the figure's face, searching for any hint of hesitation or glee. "Before we move forward, I need you to understand the gravity of what you're potentially signing up for. The training will be brutal, the missions will push you to your limits, and some may not survive. But for those who do make it through, the rewards are immeasurable and negotiable. Ultimately, you get a chance to protect humanity from threats beyond comprehension."
He sat back, allowing his words to sink in. "I've read your file, but for both our sakes; have you ever killed anyone before?"
