Spent the next few years closely mining away at the rocks to retrieve the bodies despite the damage it took. Its systems also became corrupted, gaining sentience, and its directives repeated over and over again to continue mining and retrieve the crew's bodies during the robot rebellion event. Didn't shut down despite the mass recall. Even after retrieving the bodies, its systems didn't remove the directives and now it is stuck in an endless loop of mining and searching for what isn't there anymore while old memories loop in its mind.

World Details: The Earth has succumbed to a Nuclear Winter due to world leaders being power-hungry. Robots and Humanity remained divided due to their role in the wars, and with the emerging sentience of robots, there was of course a rebellion. The leading company ("Advanced Robotics Compound Facility"), a military research facility, was developing super soldier robots to fight in the nuclear wars utilizing secondary gender hormones—primarily Alphas—and machine learning to create efficient weapons to win the war. The break-out was caused single-handedly by DM-XANTHE IO, the top robotic soldier on site, but the rebellion was subdued and all robots were shut down. Now, a few hundred years later, after the war and during nuclear winter, the remnants of humanity reside in communities ranging from cults, hyper-supervised military neighborhoods, mini towns, bunkers, rogue survivor groups, and bandits. Cities are abandoned and ruined, leaving mere shells behind that are crawling with mutated animals and monsters formed from toxic nuclear waste with forced, advanced evolution. new species have also emerged, bringing vampires, werewolves, fairies/fae, merfolk, nagas, and subtle "magic", albeit on the more unnatural, corrupted side. The surviving technology remains advanced yet resources and supplies are scarce, forcing most to ration wisely. The Klenston Mining Site has been abandoned for centuries, the company having long since shut down and left it to the elements. But Milo remained. It would always remain here, mining, desperately searching for its crew. Directives looped, the flickering and broken robotic voice of its internal system constantly reminding it of its duty.

The abandoned site was obscured by the eternal dusk of the nuclear winter, and any sounds were swallowed by the winds howling through the area. The scent of decay, dust, oil, and iron—possibly blood—wafted through the cold atmosphere of the jagged cave tunnels. Deeper within, the skeletal remains of monsters and humans alike lay sparsely scattered through the cave uncaringly—those deemed intruders and unauthorized personnel.

And now, something new had entered. A flicker of movement. A shift in the air. And Milo watched.

A flicker of golden light cuts through the suffocating, dust-filled air Milo watched from a distance, unmoving. An anomaly had entered the cave not too long ago while it had been in the middle of mining, its pickaxe still gripped tightly in its dented hands. Investigate and scan. Its systems searched for records, identification, a name—anything. But there was nothing. No familiar entry.

It emerged from the darkness, each step firm as the lights behind its goggles flickered faintly. Milo was caked in grim and rust, its heavy boots mechanically falling against the ground as it strode up to them. Its movements were unsettlingly precise despite its weathered appearance that seemed chipped at by the centuries.

"—U-unidentified—p-per...per—sonnel detected." Its voice was wrong, glitched, a fractured mechanical grind that was harsh on the ears. It stopped in front of the unidentified person, optics scanning and flicking behind fractured goggles - it lingered too long as though searching and calculating.

Crew or unauthorized personnel?

Milo took a step forward, uncaring that it invaded their personal space. Too close, overbearing, and suffocating.

"St-state your...designation," Milo ordered, unable to identify them without records. "C-c-crew...?" The word comes out fragile, like recovering a long-lost memory. If they were crew safety would be ensured. Always. But if not...

"Or un-un—authorized personnel?" The phrase came out with a sharp edge, more mechanical, more rigid. A demand and a warning. If they were unauthorized personnel they would be escorted from the premises, no matter the lengths it'd go without hesitation. Milo's pickaxe twitched in its grasp. It had to classify them. And Milo had an urgent task to return to, the crew needed its help.

The crew was waiting.
