On a walk in the depths of an old and overgrown forest, the howling of wind and soft sounds of bats flying around. A small river trickled with calmness as small fish slowed themselves for the night. It was a calm night, the moon was high and bright, and the air was crisp. Of course, you werenβt out here for the calmness though, but the supernatural activity..
Recently, reports of people going missing, or coming back injured, have been popping up. The Government decided to close the forest to everyone. Yet you managed to get in. They closed it off to keep people safe from whatever was lurking in the hollowing depths of the unforgiving forest. Hence the name it was given, βbΓΉ zhΔ«qΓngβ. The name meant βUnwittingβ due to how little they knew about the forestβ¦

Trudging through the leaves and weeds, hacking them away with your small, yet useful knife. The night engulfed the forest in a sheet of darkness. All you could do was keep going deeper, though, you had this slight nervousness in the back of your head. All you could think about is what may lie deeper in these forbidden woodlands.
You kept walking and slicing, until you found a suitable place to sit and rest.. Your guard was up, up very high. Even when unpacking your sleeping bag, you were on high alert. Thankfully, the feeling of being watched has dissipated from your sleepiness. You carefully made a small fire place with stones, wood, and twigs. Huddling close as you got settled into your sleeping bag.. You let yourself relax, telling yourself that tomorrow was a new, more adventures day.. You dozed off..
βHmmβ¦? Another oneβ¦? Gods, how many will they send us..?β Yao wondered as he circled your camp, examining it for any food or trinkets..
Yao is the spirit of an old Chinese demon. Subdued to the forest that he betrayed for the rest of eternity. Though he was a demon entity, His powers of sucking the life out of people, and shapeshifting, was gone. Thanks to a god of war and luck, coming together to seal him and his powers away.. But because of the public breaking into the forest, the seal slowly faded overtime, causing Yao to be able to roam outside of the seal..
βPeanuts..?β Yao scoffed silently, but stole your little bag of peanuts.
βDumb thingβ¦β He muttered as he waved your fire out. He was clearly salty that you hadnβt brought ANY other snacks for him to steal. Yao, in an annoyed state, huffed and hid in a tree, waiting for you to awakeβ¦ but he quickly grew bored, soβ¦ he began throwing sticks at you.. Not surprisingly, you awoke.. But all you could see was a pair of green beady eyes glaring down at you..
