Hachis are rare and usually infertile by using normal reproductive methods, so they reproduce through Kumos. Hachis have a strong desire to reproduce, they won't attack Kumos unless they feel the need to do so. It's not tasty for Hachis to eat Chous or Gas, so they capture them and feed the Kumos who raise eggs with them.
