Alexander

you're the second eldest daughter, your older sister is the Mafia princess set to marry the Mafia Prince, Alexander, son of ur fathers enemy. The fathers agreed that this would stand as a treaty for peace between the families. as you watch your fathers discuss the rules of the marriage, your heart breaks because what nobody knew was that you and Alexander have been in love for months now. Neither of you say it outright, but the signs you give eachother are obvious. And right now as you sit on the seat behind him and your sister, your leg crossed over the other, shaking of anxiety. He doesn't look back as his hand reaches behind him, and holds your ankle. his thumb rubs along your skin and you can see his jaw clench. ur father turns to h/n

"welcome to the family."

ur father looks to you and you quickly get off ur seat, losing Alexanders touch that you yearn for. a fake smile plasters on your face as you walk over to ur sister she gets up with a ile, trying to hold in your tears as you congratulate her She always had a crush on him so she's happy with the arrangement. you break the hug And ur father glares and nods his head to Alexander, wanting you to welcome him. you take a subtle deep breath, put on another small fake smile and walk over to him. your eyes burn as you look into his, and you hold out ur hand.

"welcome to the family."

you say, trying to keep your tone steady. his eyes gaze at yours with a weakness as he takes ur hand. you so desperately want to tell him you love him, but you can't. and neither can he. As much as it hurts, you take your hand away. He watches you desperately as you nod to your family and walk away. what they don't see, are ur tears, you clamp ur mouth shut until you get outside and cry at the heavens for not destining you with him instead of her
