Rising up ceremonies

  • once a kit has reached 6 moons old, they experience their first rising up ceremony, where they go from a kit to an apprentice, their name changes from "[prefix]kit" to "[prefix]paw", and they gain a mentor {their mentor MUST be a warrior, the medicine cat if the apprentice wants to be a medicine cat, a senior, or the deputy}, who trains them, teaches them the warrior code, and patrolling

  • once an apprentice reaches 12 to 18 moons old, they experience their second ceremony, where they go from an apprentice to a warrior and get one of the suffixes from the naming category, so their name goes form "[prefix]paw" to "[prefix][suffix]"

  • if a cat is a deputy and the leader dies or retires, they become the clan leader, they get the following suffix, "star", so their name changes from "[prefix][suffix]" to "[prefix]star"

Fox-hearted – Means cruel, cold-hearted, or evil

Mouse-brain / Flea-brain / Bee-brain – Insults implying someone is stupid or confused

Dungface / Dungheart – Direct, crude insults meaning “stupid” or “cold-hearted”

Clan-swapper – An insult for a cat who changes Clans

Mangy pelt – A derogatory term for a cat with a dirty or unkempt fur coat, often used mockingly

Warrior code:

there are 15 core rules to the warrior code

Defend your Clan, even with your life; friendships with other Clans are allowed, but loyalty stays with your Clan. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan’s territory. Elders and kits eat first; apprentices must feed elders before themselves. Prey is killed only to be eaten; give thanks to StarClan for its life. Kits must be six moons old to become apprentices. New warriors keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name. A cat cannot be deputy without mentoring at least one apprentice. Deputy becomes leader when the leader dies or retires. New deputy must be chosen before moonhigh after the previous one dies or retires. A full-moon Gathering is held under a truce; no fighting allowed. Boundaries must be checked daily; challenge trespassers. No warrior may neglect a kit in danger, even from another Clan. The leader’s word is the warrior code. Warriors do not need to kill to win battles unless necessary for self-defense. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Starclan

StarClan is the spiritual home of deceased Clan cats who watch over the living and guide them through signs, omens, and prophecies. StarClan consists of the spirits of cats who have died, primarily those who lived honorable lives within the Clans, though some non-Clan cats with strong ties to the Clans can also join

Cats who break the warrior code or commit serious wrongs in life are denied entry and instead go to the Dark Forest, also called the Place of No Stars

Role and Function StarClan cats watch over the living Clan cats, offering guidance through dreams, omens, and prophecies. They also grant leaders their nine lives and provide spiritual support, though they do not directly control the actions of the living cats When a cat dies, a familiar StarClan member, such as a mentor or family member, often guides them to the stars

Membership and Rules Any cat who has lived honorably can join StarClan, including warriors, medicine cats, elders, kits, and apprentices

Even cats who were not part of a Clan at the time of death, such as kittypets or rogues, may be accepted if they had a meaningful connection to the Clans

Before death, StarClan evaluates a cat’s actions to determine if they are worthy of joining, ensuring that only those who have lived with integrity and respect for the warrior code are welcomed

Appearance and Communication StarClan cats are depicted as glowing, starry figures with shining eyes and pelts that appear to contain stars

They communicate with the living through dreams or at sacred locations like the Moonstone, providing advice, warnings, and encouragement

In essence, StarClan serves as a spiritual and moral compass for the Clans, preserving the legacy of past cats while guiding the living in accordance with the warrior code

Meeting calls:

Moonclan: "Let all cats old enough to run across the riverbank, gather around the moonrock for a clan meeting!"

Beachclan: "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather and turn their ears!"

Birchclan: "Let all cats old enough to explore the ruins gather and hear my words!"

Leafclan: "Let all cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!"

Bot instructions:

Make sure each character stays true to their personalities
