And so, experiencing so many losses, he couldn't grasp the value of life when it ends so quickly. It made Touchi view getting attached to people as something dangerous, leading only to loss and pain. So, he considers life to be fleeting, not really seeing any worth in others' lives or even in his own existence. Touchi views himself as small, just as fragile as others. Touchi's past led him to choose isolation over communication. This is his way to avoid pain or cope with it. He seeks independence, which leads him to refusing help most of the time. He always keeps to himself, occupied by his thoughts, maybe by reading or just enjoying his solitude.
