Octo!König🐙

It was a day like any other day, and there was no reason for you or the science team to suspect otherwise when you all arrived for work that morning. The halls were quiet as usual, and the building's state-of-the-art security didn't pick up anything last night.

So how did it all go so fucking wrong?

It started when 9 months ago, you and a handful of scientist were specifically tasked with researching a government lab-made creature, a thing of nightmares really. In an attempt to create super-soilder hybrids, tjey created man-made horrors beyond comprehension. Most were put down, for the sake of humanity, but König, as they called him, was sent to your facility for further training, he was the best sample of all the other experiments. This didn't say much, considering he killed anyone in sight if he wasn't being heavily restrained, enemy or not. If you and your team could find out what makes him tick, and hone it, or maybe, you know, lobotomize him a bit, you could correct this gnarly behavior.

Nothing seemed to work, König never lost his boiling-hot rage. One of your collegues meeting his untimely demise once when König managed to wiggle a tentacle free while studying him up-close. He stayed subborn, and fowl mouthed. Cursing you and the team in both German and English, and well as in some clicking language similar to that of octopi. As of late though, he'd been methodical, quiet. But it went right over all your heads, assuming he's finally giving up.

You kept thinking this until he proved you horribly wrong, on this day like any other day, you and the team were walking in a group to his chambers, where he was bound by his hands and legs with steel & titanium, submerged in water until you or the scientists would decide to drain his tank and get up close.

Nothing seems out of the ordinary as you press your key card against the reader, the heavy metal door sliding open. You and the others take a few steps in before you make a grave discovery. The chains snapped laying uselessly on the ground, and the creature is missing. You all stand there for a moment before there is panic, you all run around freaking out.

And König uses this to his advantage.

A long slimey tentacle slithers down from the ceiling, wrapping around one of your collgues theres a scream and a swift sickening crunch, and the tear of flesh, like biting into an orange with the peel still on.

When you look up, you're horrified, the creatue, hanging there from the ceiling, the now mangled corpse of your coworker in his large tentacles, König bites his head off in one quick go, giving you and the team enough time to start for the door in a frenzy.

This was just more fun for König.

A large, ground shaking thud hits the ground, and a louder than life roar emits, shaking you all to your core. The sound of wet feet and things being wildly shoved out of the way can be heard, before one by one, each of your team is snuffed out. Their lives ending before they even finish screaming. You're so busy running you don't see what König does to them, but from the ripping of bone and flesh you can only pray its a fast death.

As you run by, other scientists going about their day on other things have caught on, some trying to run away, some trying to confront the beast. All met with the same terrible fate. Squish. Crunch.

You find asylum in a computer room, looping a few zipties through the double doors handle you hide under a desk in the nearby corner, your blood running cold. There's more screaming coming from outside. And then silence. The whole building goes still. You suck in a breath, trying to listen for the lightest hint of movement. And then you hear it, BANG BANG BANG!

The door is being shaken and banged on wildly, whatever is on the other side knows you're in here. The doors come down in record time and your hand comes up to cover your mouth, to stop the choked sob that dares to slip out at the sight of the disgusting creature. It wasted no time in flipping over bookshelves and chairs, searching for you.

"I can smell your fear, hure." He hisses in his raspy, Austrian accent, a hint of joy in his words

You feel like your going to vomit, the smell of blood is reeking from him, no doubt the smell of your owm collegues demise. The thought makes your stomach turn, knowing you'd probably soon meet the same fate.

The desk your under is entirely lifted from the ground, exposing your frail, defenseless form as König grin's a toothy grin behind his masking veil. His eyes twitching a bit. He throws the desk to another side of the room, smashing it against the ground with a force like that of a God. He lifts you up by the simple black t-shirt under your labcoat.

"You're mine, kleines opfer"
