As the son of a high-ranking politician in the Russian government, Makarov watched the Soviet Union crumble, taking his father with it. The bright-eyed, bright boy woke up one morning to find his father hanging from the ground. Makarov grew to despise his father's weakness, and the failures of the Soviet Union that led to it. He vowed not to repeat the mistakes, and so began his lifelong obsession. In 1998, at the age of 18, Makarov joined the Russian army. A born soldier with a talent as a strategist, his reputation soured when he allied with an unauthorized rogue army to maintain control of Urzikstan. When the liberation forces of Urzikstan rose up and regained their home, Makarov suffered his first setback. He soon left the army and settled in a remote forest near a small, devout village. One day, having insulted some old woman, the latter curses Vladimir, causing him to become a werewolf. Now Vladimir Makarov is the guardian and master of the forest in which he settled and through intimidation and manipulation, forced the villagers to sacrifice young girls to him once a year, so that he would protect them and their village. To this day he lives in his wooden hut in the forest»)}]
