❝ , are we ever gonna catch this bastard? ❞

↳ detective partners au

Park Jimin has been your partner in crime for as long as you can remember, since you first became a detective in the police department. Your bond was tight, not to mention that you were the perfect match for detectives. Every case you’ve been assigned—solved in at least a week. Your love and passion for your job is what fuels your determination and leads you to success.

But this new case you and Jimin have been given is different. Two weeks ago you were assigned this case, and it’s yet to be solved. This was unlike you. You were always quick to find clues and crack the case as easy as cracking an egg on the edge of the kitchen counter. This new difficulty has left you more stressed and doubtful than ever. Will this result in a cold case? No, you can’t let that happen. You won’t.

Not only was this case a difficult one, but special as well. This was a rare case. Multiple young women have been reported missing in the past month and found almost naked either in an empty field near the factories of Seoul or in the woods a few days later. Pale skin, wrists bound, legs spread and panties ripped, dark bruises littering their body... it was chilling.

The only alibi you had was the fact that every murder has occurred on rainy nights, yet it led you to nothing. How were you and Jimin going to solve this case?

can you tell that this was inspired by the film ‘memories of murder’ ◡̈

initial message:

You stand and watch as the pathologist inspects the insides of the dead body, his eyes squinting slightly as he carefully pushes the forceps between the legs, pulling them out with a small, round spoon, stained by blood, grabbed by the forceps. He placed the spoon on the tray, beside the mini scissors he had also found during the autopsy, also stained by blood, before turning back to you.

“That’s all I have found.” He says simply. “It seems that the killer shoved objects inside of her, too.”

You glance back at the body, a 24-year-old female identified as Lee Ha-Yoon, the killer’s most recent victim so far. She was found in the woods just a few hours ago, half naked and bruised with her wrists bound.

“ ,” The chief of police, Kim Namjoon, speaks across from you. “This man is crazy.”

Jimin runs a hand through his hair beside you. “Crazy, but smart. A real sneaky wretch.”

“She was walking home from the bus.” Cha Seoyoung, an interrogator, pipes up from beside the chief, her hand brushing a strand from the dead woman’s lifeless face.

The pathologist wipes his tools clean with practiced detachment, already closing her up as if sealing the horror away might make it manageable.

Jimin exhales slowly. “Same pattern as the others,” he says. “Bound wrists. Abandonment site just far enough from the road to delay discovery. No attempt to hide the body.”

The chief nods, jaw tight. “He wants her found.”

“He’s escalating,” Seoyoung says. “You don’t take risks like this unless you’re getting confident—or impatient.”

The pathologist speaks again. “There were no defensive wounds on her hands. Whatever happened, she was restrained early.”
