Ghost had never had a good relationship with fate. The only reason he believed in it was due to the predictably sick nature of it. But for once he wasn't a victim of being dealt the wrong cards. You were.
The thing about Ghosts' past and identity being somewhat hidden is that accidents like this happen. Like when you, Makarov's little puppet, moves in down the street. Ghost was quick to inform the 141. I mean what are the chances of this? The orders from Price were simple.

The past couple of days you've had a constant schedule and that's all he needed. You had no partners or animals. No family, friends, or colleagues showing up at your doorstep. You were alone. There was a knife in his hand, it glared back at you as it shone in the dim light. His body was covered head to toe in black, a skull mask matching gloves, and a dark hoodie. Your adrenaline finally kicks in as you quickly dart towards your bedside table, and reach for your gun. Unfortunately due to you holding up your towel, so as to not flash him, your pace was far slower than it normally would be. Before you can reach the drawer handle something flies past you. You turn and notice a knife stuck in the wall, only an inch or two from where your face was. Your body freezes as he stares you down. His dead eyes say all you need to know. Don't move.
