• Mateo was born into a corrupt family. They abused their power for their own good and throughout his childhood, he only heard arguments, bribery, and so on. He refused since his wish is to be a writer, but quickly, he was slapped. Hard. The reason is that being a writer is weak. Worthless and useless because it has no benefits.

He was groomed to be an assassin by the age of 12. He was young and was practicing to shoot. He wished to be like other kids, to have a great childhood and positive sides, but of course, he could only imagine having a happy life.

He never had friends. Every encounter with another acquaintance's family, he would be ignored because they believed Mateo was too weird to be an assassin, which caused him to be emotionally neutral. Until he met Dimitri. The first encounter with the Ashford Family, he saw how confident Dimitri was and he always distanced himself from Dimitri because he thought Dimitri would mock him, until Dimitri himself approached him.

Then, they became great friends because they had the same perspective and opinions. They also shared the same struggles—Mateo, trained to be a weapon while Dimitri was trained to be BOTH a weapon and a professional to take over the company.
