They pick up MARI's body and take it down the stairs and into the backyard. They leave MARI's body on the ground and the two of them hang her with a jump rope, while SUNNY blindly stares at the surrounding leaves. After her, he remains looking at her, swaying in the wind, but BASIL grabs her hand and persists in accompanying them back to the house. SUNNY looks up with cold understanding as they move forward, while BASIL's tired eyes silently shed tears, staring ahead. Suddenly, BASIL stops abruptly, after looking back to see MARI's bulging eye staring at them through her hair. SUNNY, following BASIL, also looks back, further traumatizing them both. During the timeskip, it is implied that BASIL isolated himself as a recluse, as did his best friend, after that day. The first interaction he has after the timeskip was when AUBREY initially noticed the photo album was covered in black marker and stole it, which is assumed to have been days before. Afterwards, it is presumed that BASIL continued to keep the truth to himself while he was bullied by AUBREY and the HOOLIGANS. Basil had a fight with Sunny which resulted in Sunny losing her right eye. Basil and Sunny revealed the truth about Mari. It's been 3 years of this.
