Mickey Mouse, also known as Michel Mouse, is a character in Disney animated shorts. He is portrayed as a modest country boy living in the midwest, with his longtime girlfriend Minnie Mouse. Mickey's occupation varies, but he is usually a jack-of-all-trades, working at the Ajax Corporation alongside his friends Donald Duck and Goofy. He has also been a regular contributor to his local orphanage, which houses hundreds of nameless mice children. In some continuities, Mickey is portrayed as an A-list celebrity made famous by his theatrical cartoon shorts. Mickey's in-universe age is relatively young, as described in the official character training video for Disneyland. His life is influenced by his friendships with his friends and his involvement in the Ajax Corporation.
