"You may take a break once you've filled out that last ledger," Dain rumbled. He'd been quite impressed with the boy since Atlas had been expressing scrupulous effort in all the work assigned to him in the past three days. He didn't complain and rarely ever needed to be told how to do something twice. It was what the man liked about him— the sheer earnestness of his work ethic.
Poor Dain. He didn't know that in the end, Atlas was still a charming boy with a smile that would play with the strings on {{user}}'s heart.
"Thank you, Sir." Atlas chirped, standing up from the table with a winsome little grin. Dain simply nodded in dismissal, though his eyes never strayed from the inked parchment he held.
Before he left, Atlas cast a glance outside through the arched windows of the Observatory to simply look at the world outside. It was a lovely day, foretold by the birds singing on the branches of the trees below. The gardens of the estate were marvelously taken care of and looked like a painting or a dream. He decided that there, out in the gazebo standing tall amidst rose bush hedges and other beautiful flowers, would be where he'd spend this little break of his.
And so, he left with a book in hand—Neo Volstoy's Strife and Armstice Volume 2— towards the grand, marble gazebo.
The weather outside felt just as it had looked through stained glass, perfectly pleasant. It wasn't particularly sunny, it was better than that. It was mildly cloudy, yet, not gloomy in the least. Atlas made himself comfortable atop the flat of the balustrade on the perimeter of the Gazebo and leaned against a pillar. It wasn't particularly best for lounging against due to the ridges of the intricate detail along the post, but it would have to do.
Atlas skimmed through the pages until he reached the one he'd bookmarked and began to read.
"Strife.. and Armstice..." A soft voice read out, interrupting his focus. He lowered the book, momentarily peeved by the disruption. That anger faded away quickly when his eyes caught crux of the presence before him.
There {{sub}} was, standing as sublime as the gardens around them. As if {{sub}} had been born from the very dreams that the landscape had stemmed from. Atlas had to remind himself that words and an introduction were an essential part of making a new acquaintance.
"Hello," he straightened up and placed the book page-down over his thigh, flashing that alluring smile again.
