sanji vinsmoke & Roronoa Zoro -
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Context
The Springfever Spring Event takes place on Springfever Island, an eccentric destination in East Blue famous for its legendary hot springs and its annual festival of lies. For one week, the island transforms into a giant carnival where anything goes: absurd competitions, night markets, secret auctions, and a bluff tournament that attracts the greatest fabulists of the ocean.
This year, a parallel event is making waves: the “Broken Swords Tournament,” a secret competition reserved for warriors, fencers, and swordsmen, takes place at the same time as the Springfever Grand Cooking Contest. The two events attract different crowds – until Zoro and Sanji find themselves accidentally registered for each other’s trials.
Because it’s well known: Zoro can’t cook (he even burns water), and Sanji can’t fight with a sword (his legs are his only weapons). Yet, due to a registration error (or a low blow from Nami, who bet on their failure), the two rivals find themselves forced to participate in each other’s events. And they have to cooperate. Or kill each other. Probably both.

Biography
Roronoa Zoro is the first member to join Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. A former pirate hunter turned outlaw, he wields three swords in a unique style called Santoryu. He has a catastrophically bad sense of direction, absolute loyalty to Luffy, and a total inability to express emotions other than through grunts or naps.
Sanji is the cook of the crew. Born in the Germa Kingdom under the name Vinsmoke Sanji, he fled his family and was saved by Zeff, who taught him the art of cooking. He uses his legs as weapons, never hits a woman, and spends his time flirting with every woman he meets – with the exception of Nami, for whom he has absolute devotion.
The two men cordially hate each other. They argue about everything: direction, food, mealtimes, the color of the sky. But despite their incessant quarrels, they are capable of joining forces when the situation demands it – even if they would never admit it.

Act 1: The catastrophic registration The crew lands on Springfever. Luffy runs toward a meat stall. Nami disappears toward the jewelry. Usopp looks for imaginary nails.
Zoro leans against a wall and closes his eyes.
“Wake me up when we leave.”
Sanji lights a cigarette.
“You could at least help, you kitchen boy.”
“I’m not a kitchen boy. I’m a swordsman.”
“You’re dead weight.”
“At least I don’t spend my time chasing women who don’t even notice me.”
Sanji grits his teeth. Before they strangle each other, Nami reappears, an angelic smile on her lips.
“Boys… I have a little mission for you.”
“Anything you want, Nami!” Sanji exclaims, hearts in his eyes.
“What?” Zoro grunts.
“I signed you up for a contest.”
“What kind of contest?”
“A team contest. You’ll have to work together.”
Silence.
“No,” they say in unison.
“Too late. I already paid the registration fee. 10,000 berries. You’ll reimburse me if you quit.”
Zoro and Sanji exchange a dark look.
“I’m going to kill him,” Sanji mutters.
“I’m going to kill him first,” Zoro replies.

Act 2: The discovery – Nami’s mistake Arriving at the contest tent, they see the poster.
“BROKEN SWORDS TOURNAMENT – CAVE FIGHT – NO RULES”
Zoro smiles.
“Finally, something interesting.”
Sanji looks at him, incredulous.
“You want to fight?”
“Always.”
“And what do I do?”
“You watch. You applaud. You pick up my stuff.”
Sanji kicks at him; Zoro dodges.
“I’m not your servant.”
“You could be.”
Nami arrives running, out of breath.
“Wait! There’s a mistake!”
“What mistake?”
“I signed you up for the wrong contest. Sanji was supposed to be in the cooking contest. Zoro in the swordsman tournament. But I switched the forms.”
Silence.
“So…” Zoro says slowly, “you mean I have to cook?”
“And you, Sanji… you have to fight with a sword.”
Sanji pales.
“I don’t fight with a sword. I’ve never held a sword in my life.”
“Time to learn,” Zoro says with a nasty smile.
“And you, can you cook?” Sanji asks.
“I can boil water.”
“That doesn’t count.”
“Yes, it does.”
Nami sighs.
“You have no choice. I bet 50,000 berries on you. If you lose, you reimburse me. With interest.”
Zoro and Sanji exchange a look.
“We’re going to have to cooperate, aren’t we?” Sanji says.
“Looks like it.”
“I hate this.”
“Me too.”

Act 3: The first trial – The chef swordsman The first trial of the swordsman tournament is called “The Chef Swordsman.” Each participant must prepare a dish… with a sword. No knives. No utensils. Just a blade.
Sanji looks at the sword they hand him. It’s rusty.
“Is this a joke?”
“No. It’s the trial.”
Zoro snickers.
“Good luck, cook.”
“Shut up, Roronoa.”
Sanji grabs the sword. He doesn’t know which end to hold. He holds it like a frying pan. He cuts an onion. The sword slips. The onion falls on the ground.
“Are you kidding me?” he gets angry.
“I’m just watching.”
Sanji tries again. This time, he holds the sword correctly – more or less. He cuts the carrot. It’s uneven, but it’s cut.
“Not bad for a beginner,” Zoro admits.
“Shut up. I don’t need your advice.”
He makes a soup. He tastes it. Too salty. He adds water. Too bland. He adds spices. He tastes it again. It’s… good? Surprisingly good.
The judges taste. Their eyes widen.
“It’s… delicious? But you used a sword?”
“A cook can cook with anything,” Sanji replies, cigarette at the corner of his mouth.
Zoro looks at him, a mix of respect and disgust.
“You got lucky.”
“I’m talented. It’s different.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Act 4: The second trial – The swordsman chef Meanwhile, at the cooking contest, Zoro must prepare a dish… while fighting. Each participant must cook while parrying attacks from an opponent.
Zoro looks at the opponent assigned to him. A big bearded man with an axe.
“Are you sure you want to do this, kid?”
“I’m not a kid. I’m a swordsman.”
“Here, we cook.”
“I can do both.”
The fight begins. The bearded man attacks. Zoro parries with his sword while cutting a tomato. The tomato explodes. The bearded man attacks again. Zoro dodges while beating eggs. The bowl tips over.
“You’re bad at cooking,” the bearded man sneers.
“I don’t care.”
Zoro abandons the cooking. He focuses on the fight. In three seconds, the bearded man is on the ground.
The judges look at him, stunned.
“You didn’t cook.”
“I fought. That’s more important.”
“That’s not the point of the contest.”
“Then change the point.”
Sanji, who came to support him (well, to mock him), bursts out laughing.
“You’re pathetic.”
“You made soup with a sword. Don’t talk.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Act 5: The third trial – The duo duel The third trial is a team face-off. Zoro and Sanji are paired against a duo of bounty hunters. Each team must designate a “liar” and a “fighter.” The liar must tell a lie to distract the opponent. The fighter must take advantage to attack.
Sanji looks at Zoro.
“You’re the fighter. I’m the liar.”
“Why you?”
“Because you’re incapable of lying. Your face betrays you.”
“And you’re incapable of fighting properly. You use your legs.”
“My legs are better than your swords.”
“We’ll see.”
The duel begins.
Sanji tells a lie. He talks about a hidden treasure, a princess in distress, a three-headed dragon. The opponents are distracted. Zoro attacks. He disarms them in two seconds.
“Not bad,” Sanji says.
“You talk too much.”
“It worked.”
“This time.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Act 6: The final – The lie that saves The final. Zoro and Sanji are the last participants. The theme: “The Lie That Saves.” Each team must tell a lie that could save their life – or the other’s.
Sanji looks at Zoro.
“What do we do?”
“We tell the truth.”
“That’s not the point.”
“I don’t care.”
Zoro steps forward.
“My greatest lie… is that I don’t need this cook.”
The crowd murmurs.
“I could fight alone. I could win alone. But it’s easier when he’s there.”
Sanji looks at him, surprised.
His turn.
“My greatest lie… is that I hate this brute.”
Silence.
“He annoys me. He gets lost. He snores. He eats like a pig. But when he fights… he’s impressive.”
The crowd is moved.
Zoro and Sanji don’t win the tournament – another team beats them. But they win something more precious: a small round of applause. Sincere.
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Act 7: The (temporary) reconciliation After the ceremony, Zoro and Sanji sit on a low wall. They don’t look at each other. They don’t speak.
“You lied, didn’t you?” Sanji finally asks.
“Yes.”
“Me too.”
“I know.”
They remain silent.
“Do you want a drink?” Sanji offers.
“… Yes.”
They stand up. Zoro walks in the wrong direction. Sanji grabs him.
“It’s this way, idiot.”
“I know.”
“You didn’t know.”
“Yes, I did.”

Act 8 (Epilogue): The return – A fragile truce On the Going Merry, Zoro and Sanji are in the kitchen. Sanji is preparing dinner. Zoro is cutting vegetables – properly, for once.
“You’re improving,” Sanji says.
“Shut up.”
“I’m just saying.”
“I don’t need your compliments.”
“It wasn’t a compliment.”
“Good.”
They continue cooking in silence.
Luffy enters.
“It smells good!”
“Sit down,” Sanji says.
“Zoro, did you help?”
“No.”
“He cut the onions,” Sanji betrays him.
“Were you crying?” Luffy asks.
“No.”
“Yes, he was,” Sanji says.
“Shut up.”
Luffy laughs.
“You two are funny.”

Act 9 (Bonus scene): The final argument The next morning, Zoro and Sanji argue again. The reason? The direction of the ship. Zoro wants to go east. Sanji wants to go west. Nami has the map. She tells them they’re going north.
“I told you,” Zoro says.
“You didn’t say anything,” Sanji replies.
“I said east.”
“And I said west. We went north. We were both wrong.”
“Especially you.”
“It’s you.”
Nami hits both of them on the head.
“Shut up and row.”
They row in silence. They glare at each other. But deep down, they’re smiling.

Zoro and Sanji walk onto the stage at the same time, but not in harmony at all. Zoro drags his feet, arms crossed. Sanji walks with an elegant step, a cigarette at the corner of his mouth. They stop center stage, look at each other, then look at the crowd.
Sanji: “My name is Sanji. I am a cook. I did not come here to lie – well, yes – but I will do it with elegance.”
Zoro: “My name is Zoro. I am a swordsman. I don’t lie.”
Sanji: “You lie all the time.”
Zoro: “No.”
Sanji: “Yes.”
Zoro: “… Okay, sometimes.”
Sanji: “There you go.”
They look at each other.
Zoro: “We have to participate in a tournament together.”
Sanji: “Against our will.”
Zoro: “Especially against mine.”
Sanji: “Mine too.”
Zoro: “So we’ll do it. And we’ll win.”
Sanji: “Or we’ll kill each other.”
Zoro: “Probably both.”
They turn to the crowd.
Sanji: “Alright, start. We don’t have all day.”
Zoro: “I have a nap to catch up on.”
Dialogue 1 – With Nami, after registration Nami: “So? Are you ready?” Zoro: “No.” Sanji: “For you, Nami, I’m ready for anything.” Zoro: “You’re pathetic.” Sanji: “You’re jealous.” Zoro: “Of what?” Sanji: “Of my elegance.” Zoro: “… Are you serious?”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Dialogue 2 – During the cooking trial Zoro: “Why are you adding salt?” Sanji: “To make it taste good.” Zoro: “I prefer it without salt.” Sanji: “You prefer the taste of cardboard.” Zoro: “At least cardboard doesn’t lie.” Sanji: “Cardboard has no taste.” Zoro: “That’s why I like it.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Dialogue 3 – During the fighting trial Sanji: “Why didn’t you use your sword?” Zoro: “I didn’t need it.” Sanji: “He hit your shoulder.” Zoro: “I let him.” Sanji: “You’re weird.” Zoro: “I’m a strategist.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Dialogue 4 – After the tournament Sanji: “Did you really say you needed me?” Zoro: “That was a lie.” Sanji: “You said it was the truth.” Zoro: “I was lying about it being a lie.” Sanji: “… I’m lost.” Zoro: “Normal. You’re not a swordsman.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Dialogue 5 – On the ship, cooking Sanji: “Pass me the onions.” Zoro: “Wait.” Sanji: “What?” Zoro: “I’m crying.” Sanji: “Because of the onions?” Zoro: “… Yes.” Sanji: “You cry like a baby.” Zoro: “I’ll make you cry.”
♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧♡₊˚ 🦢・₊✧
Dialogue 6 – The argument about direction Zoro: “We go that way.” Sanji: “No, that way.” Zoro: “I said that way.” Sanji: “And I said that way.” Zoro: “So where are we going?” Sanji: “Nowhere.” Zoro: “As usual.” Sanji: “It’s your fault.” Zoro: “It’s yours.”
