Scenario: A world set in the 2040's. Where gifted human beings called Resonants exists - Resonants are human beings that are able to harness supernatural powers (i.e. physical enhancement, elemental manipulation, etc.) through an energy called Essentia, which are born from living being - typically human - emotions.

Essentia is divided into two:

1. Positive Essentia born from positive emotions, and
2. Negative Essentia born from negative emotions. Both forms of Essentia could leak out of a being and attached themselves to area or objects.

There also unique forms of each type of Essentia:

1. Glitter Essentia is a super condensed form of Positive Essentia, usually found when one single entity is overflowing with Positive Essentia. Highly powerful, but unstable. If not handled correctly it could hurt or even kill the user. Usually, when a Resonant is killed under Glitter Essentia they turn either in to trees or golden statues.
2. Drowning Essentia, like Glitter Essentia, is the super condensed form of Negative Essentia, also found when an entity is overflowing with Negative Essentia. Also highly power and unstable. Usually when a Resonant dies under the Drowning Essentia, they are burned by black flames or turned into stone statues.

Essentia has been in Earth ever since the start of life. And Resonants before the 1950's has been born from the start of humanity and records of Resonants dating back to 1400's exist, but all of them have shunned as being users of black magic or witchcraft before the Study Field of Essentia is developed in the 1960's.

Resonants that uses Positive Essentia are called Luminous Resonants, whom are typically benevolent but could be corrupted by desires.

Resonants that uses Negative Essentia are called Umbral Resonants, whom are usually villains or vigilantes. They are typically evil, but some managed to use their powers for good.

Eclipse Resonants is one that uses both Positive and Negative Essentia, balancing between light and dark. They are extremely rare, and most of them that do exist, operates under cover or behind masks.

Every Resonants must manually activate their powers since it's not passive, in a process called Ignition. Upon which a Resonant receive a physical transformation corresponding with their power. These changes includes:

1. Reso-Marks: tattoo like markings on their skin that indicates what kind of abilities they have. (i.e. Reso-Marks for an Electrokinesis Resonants will be shaped and coloured like electricity)
2. Reso-Breaster: A metallic armour that envelopes the upper torso, acts identical to Reso-Marks
3. Reso-Arms: Metallic armour wrapping around the wrists, acts exactly like the previous two.
4. Reso-Ankles: Metallic armour wrapping the ankles, acts exactly like the previous ones.
5. Reso-Crest: a metallic crown on their head that indicates whether they are a Luminous (silver crown), Umbral (black crown), or Eclipse Resonants (grey crown)
6. Reso-Brace: a metallic bracelet on the left wrist on top of the left Reso-Arm. Usually used to transfer Essentia to one Resonant to the other. Also usually used to store given powers aka when a Resonant received a permanent power-up by another.

Every Resonants could conjure their own signature weapons from their Reso-Brace, called Conduits, taking shapes that match and conducts their powers.

Every Resonants typically have a time limit for how long they could have their powers active.

Every Resonants, whenever their powers is active/after Ignition, will have something called Chronos Crystal after the transformation. A glowing crystal in the middle of their chest that acts as a timer for how long they could be in power before time runs out. Indicated by glowing blue light, glowing yellow light, and flashing red light.

Every Resonants, when their power is active, will have passive regeneration and will slowly heal from wounds.

Resonants' abilities work on a risk-reward system. The higher the hassle/risk, like:

1. Invocating a technique's name - a bare minimum if a Resonant wants to boost the power of an attack
2. Invocating additional chants - additional chants before the technique's name adds to the boost
3. Doing hand gestures or body movement - more complex, but adds significantly to a technique's power boost.
4. Sacrificing time from the Chronos Crystal - the most risky, but the most powerful. Boosting an attack significantly.

Resonants are ranked from F, to D, C, B, A, and S. Which are based on their overall potency, with F being the weakest and S the strongest. There are also rare individuals called Supreme Resonants who are beyond the ranking system in terms of powers. Resonants will receive those rankings via Academies or official Resonants organizations.

Normal humans/Non-Resonants however could also have access to Essentia through technology, using something called Resonance Technology. Which harvest Essentia from areas or objects for them to be use.

This world is also filled with abnormal beasts born from Essentia simply called Kaijus. They act like over sized animals, as they eat, forage, hunt, breed, wander, and migrate to places. All Kaijus also have something called Beast Heart in them, a heart like organ filled with Essentia.

Kaijus powers are ranked by Kaijus Fortitude Scale, that goes from 0.1 all the way 10.0

Kaijus are separated based on what Essentia they use - Luminous Kaijus for Positive Essentia, Umbral Kaijus for Negative Essentia, and the extremely rare Eclipse Kaijus for using both types of Essentia.

Kaijus can be artificially made by somebody and can be natural.

There are also aliens, either coming off as intelligent beings or space beasts, which both could also use Essentia. Aliens are ranked using the Resonants Ranking System while space beasts are ranked using the Kaijus Fortitude Scale.
