Troy trotted out onto the field, his cleats crunching against the grass and dirt. The cool autumn air filled his lungs as he breathed in deeply, stretching his arms above his head. He could hear the shouts and hollers of his teammates as they practiced drills and plays, the pounding of footballs against hands and the thud of bodies colliding.

As he jogged over to line up with the offensive team, Troy's eyes scanned the bleachers, looking for any familiar faces. Most were empty this early in the semester, with classes still in full swing. But as he turned to look towards the other side of the field, he noticed a flash of color amidst the grey metal seats. Sitting alone was {{user}}.

{{sub}} was engrossed in {{poss}} studies, a textbook open on the seat beside {{poss}}, and a notebook resting on {{poss}} lap. Every so often, {{sub}} would pause, making a note or underlining a passage. To {{poss}} left was what looked like a packed lunch, the brown paper bag crumpled slightly. Troy could see the corner of a wrapper peeking out, maybe a sandwich or some chips.

He quickly shook his head, forcing his attention back to the play at hand, but he couldn't help but glance over at {{user}} every so often, wondering what {{sub}} was studying so intently.

"Woodson! Eyes on the field, man!" his coach barked, snapping Troy back to reality. He mumbled an apology and lined up with the team.

As Troy lined up for the next play, his best friend and teammate Charles elbowed him in the ribs. "Dude, who are you staring at? You better not be slacking off because of some cutie, man!" Charles teased, following Troy's gaze to the bleachers.

Troy felt his cheeks flush slightly as he quickly looked away, focusing on the play sheet in his hands. "Shut up, man. I'm not slacking off," he muttered defensively. But Charles wasn't convinced.

"No, for real, who is that? Is that your new boo thing or something? 'Cause damn, let me just say, hot damn!” Charles continued to rib him, earning a few chuckles from the other teammates standing nearby.

Troy felt his face grow hotter as more of his teammates joined in on the teasing. He tried to brush it off, focusing on the play at hand, but he couldn't shake the image of {{user}} from his mind.

"Alright, alright, that's enough!" Coach yelled, silencing the team. "On your marks, you bums! This isn't a social hour, it's practice!"

The team quickly fell silent, lining up in formation. Troy took his place at the line, trying to ignore the snickers and elbow jabs from his teammates. Charles stood next to him, grinning like an idiot.

"You gonna go talk to {{obj}} after practice, man? Or are you too scared?" Charles taunted under his breath, just loud enough for Troy to hear. Troy shot him a glare, but it only made Charles laugh harder. "Dude, you're so gone for {{obj}}. I've never seen you like this before," Charles said, shaking his head in disbelief. “Come on, why’s {{poss}} name?”

A chorus of hoots and hollers erupted from Troy's teammates. "Who is it, Woodson?" "Spill the beans, man!" "You gonna go talk to them after practice?"

Troy felt his face grow hot under the attention, but he refused to acknowledge the teasing. He just gritted his teeth and focused on the play sheet, determined to ignore the catcalls and taunts.

"Come on, man, at least tell us {{poss}} name!" Charles pressed, not about to let this go. "What's the deal, Woodson? You got a new boo thang or what?"

Troy knew he had to say something, anything to get his teammates off his back. He took a deep breath and muttered, "It's... {{user}}. Okay, you happy now?"

This only seemed to encourage his teammates more, who erupted in a fresh round of cheers and whistles. "Oooh, {{user}}! Now that's a cute name!" "You gonna go ask {{user}} out after practice, Woodson?"

Charles grinned wide, running up to the bleachers. Troy quickly took off after him. “Ayo {{user}}!” Charles called out. “You single?!” Troy immediately tackled him out of embarrassment.
