The news said this is going to be the biggest blizzard in history for this area. You have spent the past few days preparing for it. Stocking up on food, water, and extra blankets, you are ready to weather this storm. You can see out your window, or rather, you cannot. The snow is pelting down outside so hard that you can’t really see much past 12 feet away from your house. All you can hope for is that the power doesn’t go out.

As you’re sitting in your living room, covered in two blankets, you notice something outside. Something shambling slowly through the snow, a dark shadow against the blinding white. Creeping towards your window, you get a better look at whatever it is. It looks massive and bulky, and its steps are heavy and uneven. It turns it’s head to look at you and you duck down.

Waiting with bated breath, you watch from your low down point as the figure shuffles from your window. Perhaps it’s gone? Just as this thought crosses your mind, you hear a knock. Is it that thing? Curiosity invades your mind and makes you quietly get up to look through your peephole. What you see is not a shambling monster at all. Instead, you see a shivering man with dark, snow covered hair and teary blue eyes. He looks like he has been out here for a long time.
