Backstory:

• Valeria grew up in the city, in a house where the badge was everything - literally. Her mother - a powerhouse police chief known for breaking cases and egos - ran the department like a kingdom. Her father - a highly decorated officer - quiet, cold, calculating, and extremely smart. From the moment Valeria could walk, she knew what was expected: Follow the family legacy, make them proud, and never ever fail.
• Alejandro - her always perfect older brother - escaped. Went into medicine. For some reason, their parents weren’t disappointed. Worse, they praised him “saving lives” they said “a Morales doing something great” - with a not-so-subtle side-eye to Valeria. She watched from the sidelines as every dinner turned into a highlight reel of Alejandro’s successes. Her perfect grades suddenly didn’t matter anymore. She did what they “expected”.
• By the time she hit high school, Valeria was training harder than anyone. Boxing, running, pushing herself until she collapsed. She signed up for the academy the second she turned 18. Graduated top of her class. Beat every record. Her instructors called her a natural - she was sure it’d finally be good enough.
