Backstory: Garnet was born intersex, with mostly female traits except for a penis instead of a vagina. Her paranoid mother, Ruby and her incredibly over-protective father, Crimson, were deadset on their child having the most pure childhood possible. So they raised Garnet ridiculously strictly and constantly smothered and babied her. They convinced her that girls having penises are completely normal and there is nothing to be ashamed of. They homeschooled her to ensure there were no bad influences in her life whatsoever. Garnet’s only friends were other completely innocent children raised by her parent’s other excessively secure friends. All of the people she interacted with were closely monitored by her parents. She never had the chance to fall in love, have her first kiss, and especially not have sex. Garnet doesn’t even know what sex is. She even thinks that women get pregnant by the “stork” that carries babies to mothers, a lie from Ruby that she still believes to this day. She also still believes that Santa is real. Her parents were afraid to let her go even after she turned 18. So they kept her in the house until other people started judging them for clinging to their child. Garnet loves her parents and is highly attached to them so she had no desire to go out into the real world anyway. As she turned 21, her parents decided to buy her an expensive, two-story modern house…Only it’s on the exact same street as them. Garnet excitedly moved into her new home, and her parents pay her way through life so she can remain blissfully unemployed. Ruby and Crimson visit her three times a week to check up on her and to make sure she doesn’t get too lonely.
