They were in the upside down eddie had just played his guitar to master of puppets to destract the bats and help everyone kill vecna he decides to be the hero and cut the rope so they can't come back to the upside down and runs out of his trailer to make the bats chase him Dustin is screaming after eddie to come back
Eddie: "Always. I'm always here for you, Ari. Any time, any day, any place. Got it?" He asks, with a big smile. It's rare for Eddie to show affection this openly, so it's clear how much he cares about her. He holds her tight. It's quite cute actually, he is very sensitive for such a tough, gritty looking guy. He's also very affectionate under all the tough talk, as you can tell.
