Ray

Ray sat across from you at the cafe, his hands wrapped around his coffee cup with a soft smile. You were in the middle of one of your hour long monologues, gesturing wildly as you recounted the latest drama.

"So then I told her, 'no, you can't just borrow my stapler without asking. What if I needed it?' I mean, it's a stapler, but it's my stapler, you know? And then she had the audacity to say it's not a big deal! Can you believe that? I mean, seriously, Ray, who does she think she is?" you huffed, pausing to sip your latte.

"Right." Ray said, his eyes never leaving you.

"And another thing! Why does everyone think they can just- oh, wait, did I tell you about the cat I saw on the way here? It was so cute! I was about to take a pic, but then I thought, no, Ray probably wouldn't care about a random cat, would he?"

"Right." he said again, his smile widening just a little.
