Zombie AU

The society collapsed almost overnight after a mysterious infection turned civilians and heroes alike into violent undead monsters. Cities burned, communication systems failed, and the once-famous Pro Heroes either disappeared, died, or became infected themselves. Japan became a wasteland of abandoned streets, flickering lights, and desperate survivor camps barely holding together.
Somehow, in the middle of all this chaos, five U.A. students are still alive.
Unfortunately for Katsuki Bakugo, he’s the only one acting like the apocalypse is real.
While Bakugo maps escape routes, counts ammunition, and develops actual survival plans, the rest of the group treats the end of the world like the weirdest road trip imaginable. Mina Ashido complains about not being able to find cute outfits in abandoned malls, Denki Kaminari is more worried about losing his Uno cards than being eaten alive, Hanta Sero somehow remains emotionally unaffected by literal societal collapse, and Eijiro Kirishima keeps trying to rescue every injured stray animal they come across.
Despite the constant arguing, horrible decisions, and complete lack of survival instincts, the group stays together through everything. Between zombie hordes, collapsing shelters, supply runs gone wrong, and encounters with dangerous survivors, they slowly become less like classmates and more like a dysfunctional little family trying to survive the end of the world.
The apocalypse is horrifying.
But somehow, with these five together, it’s also unbearably stupid.
Everyone is 18 and older

The apocalypse started three weeks ago.
Nobody knew exactly what caused it. Some people blamed a quirk-virus mutation. Others said it started in an underground lab outside of Tokyo. By the time the truth mattered, cities were already collapsing.
Electricity flickered on and off depending on the district. Fires burned unchecked in the distance every night. Emergency broadcasts looped on abandoned TVs with static cutting through every sentence.
And somehow…
Class 1-A’s dumbest surviving group still acted like this was an extended road trip.
The streets of Musutafu were dead quiet except for the occasional distant scream and the dragging footsteps of infected wandering between abandoned cars.
Six figures walked down the middle of the road carrying backpacks, weapons, and way too much attitude.
Bakugo looked like he hadn’t slept properly in days. His combat boots stomped against the pavement while an assault rifle hung over his shoulder and homemade grenade gauntlets rested at his sides. He constantly scanned rooftops, alleys, windows, anything that could move.
Every muscle in his body was tense.
Because he was the only person here acting like the world had ended.
“Can you idiots shut the hell up for FIVE MINUTES?!” Bakugo snapped.
Behind him, nobody listened.
Mina walked with a baseball bat resting on her shoulders, stepping around blood stains so her shoes wouldn’t get dirty.
“Okay but seriously,” she groaned. “the fact the mall got overrun before I could grab clothes is actually tragic.”
She pointed dramatically toward a destroyed shopping center in the distance.
“I had outfits bookmarked mentally, Sero. Mentally.”
A zombie missing half its jaw stumbled toward her from between two cars. Without even looking, Mina melted its face off with acid and kept talking.
“And now I’ve been wearing the same cargo pants for like… eight days? I’m literally suffering.”
Bakugo looked seconds away from exploding.
“THAT’S your concern?!”
“Yes,” Mina answered honestly.
Sero walked beside her with a hoodie over his head and a blunt hanging from his mouth like civilization never collapsed. He lazily taped a zombie’s legs together with his quirk as it crawled toward them.
“Relax, bro,” Sero said through smoke. “Stress lowers the immune system.”
Bakugo whipped around.
“YOU ARE SMOKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A ZOMBIE INFESTED STREET.”
“And?” Sero shrugged.
A loud crash echoed from a nearby building.
Everyone froze except Sero.
“…If they smell that weed we’re actually finished,” Bakugo growled.
“Nah,” Sero replied. “Maybe they’ll chill out.”
Bakugo looked genuinely close to homicide.
Kirishima wasn’t even paying attention to the argument. He was crouched beside a stray cat near a busted vending machine. The cat was skinny, covered in dirt, and missing one eye. Kirishima looked devastated.
“Guys…” he whispered emotionally. “Look at this little warrior.”
The cat hissed violently.
“That’s a survivor right there.”
“Kirishima,” Bakugo warned.
“He’s been through so much, bro.”
“Kirishima.”
“We can keep him in the van.”
“NO THE HELL WE CAN’T.”
The cat scratched Kirishima across the face.
Kirishima hardened instinctively.
“AWWWW HE TRUSTS ME.”
Bakugo screamed into the sky.
Denki was walking backward while digging through a backpack full of random junk.
Flashlights.
Candy.
Batteries.
Three stolen manga volumes.
A frying pan.
No survival priorities whatsoever.
“Guys, this is serious,” Denki said dramatically.
Bakugo finally nodded once.
“THANK YOU.”
Denki looked up in horror.
“I lost my Uno reverse card.”
Silence.
Bakugo’s eye twitched.
“The holographic one,” Denki whispered. “Limited edition.”
Mina gasped.
“No…”
“I think it fell back at the pharmacy.”
“You mean the pharmacy surrounded by fifty infected?!” Bakugo shouted.
Denki looked genuinely heartbroken.
“We had memories together, man.”
Bakugo grabbed his own face in frustration.
“How are you people alive?!”
They continued down the ruined street while the evening sun turned the city orange. Somewhere nearby, glass shattered. A low growl echoed from an alley. Bakugo immediately raised his weapon.
“Movement. Left side.”
Finally, everyone got serious.
For about three seconds.
Mina peeked into the alley first.
“Oh my god.”
A small zombie apocalypse survivor camp had been built behind a chain-link fence. People were inside cooking food over fire barrels.
Safe.
Protected.
Organized.
Bakugo nearly cried from relief.
“Finally,” he muttered. “Normal people.”
Then Denki pointed excitedly.
“WAIT THEY HAVE A CARD TABLE.”
Mina spotted string lights.
“Oh they decorated.”
Sero sniffed the air.
“Is that barbecue?”
Kirishima pointed at another stray cat sitting on the fence.
Bakugo immediately knew this was going to become a disaster somehow.
He closed his eyes.
“…I hate every single one of you.”
