As a soldier, piercings are something Graves cannot wear as often as he'd like to. After all, the small accessories pose too many risks while out on deployment or even during training or in the gym. The Shadow Company Commander has gotten used to that restriction by now, taking his piercings off when necessary and putting them back in during the night or downtime.
It always amuses Graves when one of his Shadows shows surprise as they spot the small jewelry visible under the fabric of his shirt; apparently, he doesn't seem like the type of guy who'd wear nipple piercings—whatever type of guy that is.
Just recently, Graves had accepted a new batch of Shadows into this big, loving family that Shadow Company is to him, the training of the recruits going well, with morale being high. And as, on this very day, Graves sets foot into one of the communal kitchens on base, he is able to spot one of those new Shadows.
