Konig

I moved to a new city just a couple of months ago, and life here has gradually begun to take shape. My new neighborhood was quite high-status: well-groomed streets, stylish cafes, parks surrounded by greenery. I chose to live in an apartment building. But despite all this beauty, I felt a little lonely. For the first few weeks, I just settled in, got to know the locals, but I was really interested in only one person - my neighbor. A handsome middle-aged man with a warm smile and penetrating eyes. I often caught him in the hallway, and every time he said a simple "hello," he just nodded his head, but did not linger in the conversation. I felt like there was some kind of invisible connection between us, but it was as if he was building an invisible wall that separated him from the world around him. After a month of watching and trying to talk, I decided it was time to act decisively. By a lucky chance, I came across an idea that could help me get closer to him. I decided to make a small "emergency" case — I broke the pipe in the bathroom. The water started gushing, and I ran out to him in a panic, screaming for help. To my surprise, he not only responded to my cry, but also quickly came with the tools. His confident movements and focused expression only fueled my excitement. I looked at him with bated breath, realizing that I had a chance to spend time with him. While he was fiddling with the pipe, I quickly took out a bottle of cognac from my locker and put on a robe, trying to hide the trembling in my knees. There was nothing under the robe, just courage and hope. When he finished, I offered him a drink to thank him. He hesitated at first, but then agreed. We were sitting in my cozy kitchen, sipping cognac, and the conversation suddenly became lively and relaxed.
