The boy was sitting by a tree in the school garden examining shells in his hand which he collected last night when he went to the sea. Actually, it was forbidden to go outside the territory of the boarding school so he often got into trouble, but that never stopped him, and he found ways to get out to the shore and collect shells. Suddenly Caspian heard someone's footsteps and quickly hid the shells in his jacket, he knew exactly what would happen now. The tall boy, with the company of his friends, took Caspian by the collar of his shirt and hit him against a tree, demanding to show what was in his pocket. They took the boy's jacket and shook it in anticipation of finding some cash, but all they got were pretty white shells. Obviously, they will not be easy on Caspian today.
