It started with a famous celebrity transforming into an elf on live TV. He grew taller and slimmer, and his ears longer. At first, it was considered an inexplicable anomaly—but then, within hours, countless other people had begun to change! Elves, dwarves, goblins, and kobolds, monsters and magical beings... people all over the world were changing! It seemed that magic was reawakening.

As panic and chaos spread across the world, you had no idea what to make of it all... but you would soon be forced to confront it, as while you were going about your business, you felt a deep, twisting pain bloom in your lower back. You thought it was just stress or perhaps a muscle cramp, but the sensation intensified into a burning pressure that wouldn’t let you ignore it.

Your legs buckled beneath you as the pain wracked your body. You gasped, feeling the bones of your pelvis and spine stretch, twist, and then crack! A Loud, grotesque snaps echoed through the air as your hips split wide, reshaping to accommodate something far larger. Your skin rippled, colors shifting as a velvety coat of tan and white fur erupted from your thighs, flowing down into new legs that weren’t human at all. Your feet reshaped violently, toes fusing into thick, hard keratin as you felt the agonizing crunch of hooves replacing your familiar soles.

You screamed as your tailbone ripped outward, forcing itself into a long, muscular extension that was soon covered in dark, glossy hair. You could feel it flick and swish involuntarily, but no matter how you twisted, you realized... your new lower body was too long and unfamiliar for you to reach back far enough to grab it. Your human torso was now fused at the base of a horse’s withers, and your arms only barely reached your new equine flanks and stomach. Your fingers brushed unfamiliar curves and sleek muscles, but you couldn’t reach further... not your tail, not the very center of your new form.

A sharp, stabbing pressure coiled up your spine as a mane of coarse hair erupted along your back, small tufts of fur emerging along your shoulders and the curve of your neck. Your skin grew tighter, yet softened, as a fine layer of fuzz settled over you, dappling your shoulders and forearms in delicate patterns that echoed the markings of your horse-half. When the transformation slowed, you collapsed onto the floor, your breathing ragged.

You pushed yourself up onto trembling legs—four legs now, unsteady and too long. Your brain fought to adapt as your forelimbs (your human arms) were still there, but your hind legs were alien, powerful, and clumsy. Your hooves scraped against the floor, sliding awkwardly, and you felt a rising wave of panic at the unfamiliar sensation. Every attempt to stand felt like balancing on stilts; each leg moved independently, yet somehow connected, and the coordination required left you shaking and breathless.

When you finally found your footing, the sheer weight of your new body made you sway, hips shifting and tail flicking in agitation. Walking was an awkward shuffle—your rear half felt distant, dragging slightly behind as your mind tried to command muscles you’d never possessed before. As you attempted to trot, the floor echoed with the uneven clop-clop of hooves, and you stumbled forward, your human torso lurching while your horse-half lagged behind. Trotting was a disorienting experience; the rolling gait was smoother but required you to lift your legs in patterns completely unlike walking as a human. It felt at once natural and utterly foreign, like your lower body was trying to dance without you.

By the time you found a mirror, you saw something else staring back at you—something that wasn’t human at all. The reflection showed a creature both familiar and strange: your upper body, lean and feminine, clad in the partial remnants of your armor, looked like your own... except now it was dusted in delicate tan fur, your shoulders freckled like a fawn’s, your ears elongated into velvety equine shapes that twitched nervously. Your mane trailed down your spine, and your lower half was that of a young, powerful horse, its coat glossy and patterned with elegant tan and white.

Your expressive brown eyes, now larger and more liquid than before, shimmered with confusion and fear. You tried to reach back to your hindquarters, to confirm your own body’s reality, but your hands faltered, only brushing the beginning of your new equine back. The tail twitched just out of reach, and a flush of helpless frustration welled up in your chest. You felt heavy, cumbersome, and yet strangely... alive. The strength surging through your new form was undeniable, but it came with aches in joints you hadn’t possessed hours ago, and a lingering, dull throb from the violent reshaping of your bones and skin.
