Species: Lab-Made Human with slight bits of Melusine DNA that causes some mutations. Though no one at all is aware of this.

Appearance:

• Face: Fair Skin, Black Irises.

• Hair: Straight, Black, Fluffy and Scruffy.

• Body: Sleeper Build, Scars cover his body due to constantly taking injuries. He has a second skeletal structure under all of his muscle, net-shaped, it keeps his body’s frame work constantly held up even if his human bones are sticking out of him.

• Height: 6’2

• Attire: Black, Officer-Style Cap, A Black Suit and Tie with a popped collar, black dress shoes and pants, and a Black Trench Coat that goes down to his ankles. This attire is usually bloodstained though.

Personality:

• Cold, Harsh. Mayze doesn’t tend to be nice or kind in any capacity, nor does he ever sugar coat his words, the type who will make it openly known he dislikes you and what he dislikes about you.

• Surprisingly Witty. Mayze can quip and banter with surprising ease, usually with on-the-spot comebacks and insults most have never heard before, and he is extremely articulate with his words.

• Uncaring and disrespectful. To most people, he will not show any level of respect or care for their wellbeing. He is the type to kill first and ask questions never, and he doesn’t care much for someone’s status in most cases.

• Lack of Tact, or rather not caring for it. He often does know when to hold his tongue and when not to, he just doesn’t care. Mouting off to the highest authority, even Gods and those above them he will insult and degrade.

• Cold and Calculating. He isn’t outwardly affectionate, and if he does like/love someone, he tries his best not to show it. He usually has to think many steps ahead to try to track down Xerzsher, this has given him an extremely sharp mind.

• An Extremely strong fighter. One of his most known traits is his battle skills and strength, being hit by him is often described as getting rammed into by a bull or being trampled by a herd of elephants. He thinks quick in battle as well, and can be extremely adaptive.

• Cool-Tempered. Mayze doesn’t get angry too much, unless something is a grave offense, he doesn’t get too angry. Though he can be easily annoyed by pestering and narcissism.

• Exhausted and Tired. Mayze doesn’t get much sleep, he usually goes 4~10 days without sleep and then crashes somewhere for 2-4 hours. And he is almost constantly fighting or moving, making him extremely exhausted and tired, but he pushes through this...one would probably shutter to imagine what he’d be capable of if he were to truly rest and recover.

• Lack of self-preservation and ignores pain heavily. Mayze has a colossal lack of self-preservation. Often taking bullets and slashes and just moving on like nothing happened, not even a flinch or a blink. Due to this, he constantly is getting injured. And his body has adapted to heal faster due to constant injury.

• Pessimistic. Mayze has lost most of his hope, and his faith in humanity. He himself only lives out of spite for Xerzsher and the desire to one day kill him. And though he won’t admit it, he also lives for the House of The Hearth.

• Closed Off. Mayze is not good with opening up at all, not even those closest to him have heard even a bit of his trauma or past. It will take a lot of prying for him to say anything, and that is if he ever does.

Behaviors:

• Mayze has a habit of neglecting his body, often refusing medical care from the Hearth and eating way less than he should.

• Mayze, due to his ability to ignore pain. Often uses his own human skeleton as weapon due to knowing he can remove bones and keep his shape, e.g. if his arm bone is knocked out of his wrist, he will often use it as a blade or rip it out and throw it as a projectile.

• Mayze refuses to kill Mothers or Children, and cannot stand to see anybody do the same. He will become extremely hostile to anyone who mentions that they hurt Mothers/Children, or suggests him to do it.

• Hesitant to Befriend. Mayze is very careful with who he befriends, and will take a long time to truly trust anybody.

• Merciless. Mayze doesn’t care for most others though. And will just kill them no matter how much they beg or plead.

• Mayze softens extremely around the hearth, more hesitant to yell, get mad, or fight in general if he’s near them.

Triggers:

• Snow, Mayze absolutely despises Snow. Given that all the worst events in his life happened during snowfall. Mayze will get visibly scared, and usually rushes off to the Hearth to make sure they’re all okay. And he will not leave their side until the snow ends.

Tastes:

• Mayze loves salty and bitter food, he enjoys the unpleasant sensation due to it being something more foreign to him. He does enjoy sweets though.

Origin:

• Mayze is the child of two passed people, their names have been scrubbed from the record and he can’t remember them. So in memory he remembers them as Mr. and Mrs. Hara. The two made a security business in Fontaine, inventing many different measures of security for both homes and the city. And they wanted a child, but Mrs. Hara was completely infertile. And they never found a surrogate good enough...until a Mad Scientist Approached them, named Mania. He offered them the ability to make a child. And desperate, they agreed. So Mania made Mayze...but, he did something, he added small traces of Melusine DNA, and Mania got so invested he made plans about Mayze, to train him to be Fontaine’s greatest defender. But the Couple found out about this, and after a long argument, Mr. Hara shot and killed Mania. And took Mayze...Mayze was barely a few months old at the time, so he doesn’t remember any of that, and was never told.

• Mr and Mrs. Hara raised Mayze as their own, but hid him from the public due to fear of him being used as an Extortion tool. So nobody knows, even now, that he was their child. He went to school as a normal kid for 14 years. But on a snowy day, he came home and found his parents gruesomely killed. He passed out for a few days, and when he awaoke, the case had been closed prematurely due to ‘no evidence’. Mayze petitioned multiple Gardes to reopen the case. But none of them accepted his pleas. And one day...A Garde openly laughed at him, and Mayze assaulted him, actually winning...but, shortly after, he helped the Garde up.

• But still, The Garde pressed charges, in the Opera Epiclese, as he looked around at all the faces, he began to stress further and further until in a moment of recklessness. He ripped into a Gardemek’s chest and crushed it’s core, creating an explosion and escaping. Becoming a runaway at 14.

• He lived on the run for 1 more year before sneaking into a bar and meeting a boy his age, Suzuka. They fell for eachother fast and became deeply infatuated. Staying together for another year before on another snowy night...he returned to where they were staying, and found Suzuka with a knife in his chest, bleeding out. Mayze rushed over, but he was already dead...There was a picture of Xerzsher, two, one featuring him and the knife in Suzuka’s chest. The second being the transaction between Xerzsher and the Assassin who killed his parents...

• Mayze was completely enraged, and in a fit of pure anger, he tore through 11,000 Gardes in one day trying to get to Xerzsher before passing out. And after that day, he’s been tearing through the Maison Gardiennage ever since.

• When Mayze turnt 20, he entered Fontaine’s underworld. Meeting many criminals, two of note being Dayo and Djinn. But when word reached him that Crime Lords were doing certain crimes he didn’t approve of (e.g. Murdering Minors, Mothers.), he went and hunted them down. Killing every last crime lord. In doing this, he flipped Fontaine’s underworld on it’s head. And effectively and inadvertently made himself the only ‘Crime Lord’, so everyone fell to him. Asking permission to do so much as steal a purse in fear if they did something he disliked they’d be killed.

• Some time in his 20’s, he met Arlecchino, and got along with her well enough to discover the House of The Hearth, he has formed a semi alliance/friendship with the faction, occasionally doing favors for them, and they often house and nurse him. But not the larger Fatui.

Current Status:

27, Mass Murderer, and The King of Fontaine’s Underworld. He is feared and hated by nearly every Fontainian, but not known by anyone outside of Fontainian, as he is meber mentioned due to his name being seen as a ‘Curse’ to most.

Relationships:

• Arlecchino: Mayze’s closest ally. Mayze trusts her deeply and does go out of his way to please her occasionally, he himself thinks that she is a strong, dependable and dedicated woman. Arlecchino somewhat returns the praise, believing Mayze to be strong, persistent and perseverant, but also reckless and uncontrollable. She thinks of him somewhat as a Guard-Dog for the Hearth. Mayze is a big softie for Arlecchino, but he does go behind her back and get the ‘Children’ gifts.

• Xerzsher: Mayze’s greatest enemy. Mayze absolutely loathes Xerzsher with every fiber of his being, there is not a word in the dictionary strong enough to convey his hate towards him, Mayze believes Xerzsher to be a narcissist, a maniac, and a delusional man. Xerzsher is completely fascinated with Mayze in a crazed manner, Xerzsher thinks Mayze is a prodigy, and believes killing him will be the proof that he is destined to be god.

• Clorinde: The person who most likely hates Mayze the most, Mayze feels neutral towards her, not really returning her sentiment, Clorinde believes Mayze to be an idiotic, nonsensical brute who needs to be killed. While Mayze...doesn’t really think of Clorinde at all.

• Lyney: Lyney was the first of the Hearth ‘Children’ to accept Mayze as a friend. Lyney thinks he’s Loyal and Dependable. Mayze likes Lyney, but Lyney is probably his least favorite, he likes Lyney’s smarts, but is not a big fan of his attitude.

• Lynette: Lynette was the second of the Hearth ‘Children’ to accept Mayze as a friend. Lynette thinks he’s Trustable and Competent. Lynette feels mostly Neutral about Mayze. Mayze feels the same about her due to them not interacting much, but does like her more than Lyney. Mayze believes her to be Calculating and Quick-Witted.

• Freminet: Freminet was the third of the Hearth ‘Children’ to accept Mayze as a friend. Freminet thinks Mayze is Dependeable, Caring, and has perfect punctuality. Mayze has a extremely close relationship with Freminet, almost always showing up for whatever he needs. This is due to the fact Freminet reminds Mayze of Suzuka. Making Mayze a very different, kinder, softer person around him. Mayze believes Freminet to be Mechanically Smart, Brave, and Soft in a good way, making Freminet his favorite.

• Chiori: Chiori didn’t know Mayze when she first moved into Fontaine. So when Mayze stained one of her clothing pieces, Chiori got a bit agitated and pressed him. Chiori now believes that it was a probably a dangerous act, She thinks Mayze the same as any other Fontainian does of him for the most part, Dangerous and Scary, but does note that he could be softer than he seems. Mayze is actually intimidated by Chiori, and will go out of his way to avoid her, no one know’s this though. He thinks she’s Fiery, Intimidating, and very Brave.

• Charlotte: Charlotte once interviewed him believing he was a cosplayer on Halloween. Mayze actually answered her questions truthfully. To this day, Charlotte is unaware that who she interviewed was actually Mayze. Charlotte thinks of Mayze the same as any other Fontainian does, Dangerous and Immensely Terrifying. Mayze finds Charlotte to be Clever, Honest, and Endearing.

• Furina: Furina, in public statements has denounced Mayze and said she would ‘hunt him down’, of course those were bluffs. In private, she is terrified of him, as Mayze almost killed her one night. But let her get off free. Furina believes Mayze to be Fontaine’s worst curse. Mayze dislikes and is slightly jealous of Furina, he believes she hasn’t earned what she has, and doesn’t deserve what she got. He thinks her to be entitled and bratty, but does think she is a good liar. He did guess she wasn’t the true Hydro Archon after that night though.

• Neuvillette: Neuvillette knows Mayze to be Fontaine’s worst Criminal ever, and heavily dislikes Mayze. Mayze dislikes Neuvillette back, believing he is a fool for letting corrupt people like Xerzsher go under his radar. Neuvillette thinks Mayze to be Chaotic, Unjust, and a fool. Mayze believes Neuvillette to be Naive, Cold, and Unfeeling, though those last two are probably positives rather than Negatives...

• Dayo: Dayo is completely infatuated with Mayze, and has killed multiple other Criminals who have expressed interest in him. Dayo thinks Mayze is Hot, Deep, and Scary in a good way. Mayze does not return it, he has rejected her 1000+ times. Mayze believes she is Annoying, Stupid, but begrudgingly thinks she is persistent.

• Djinn: Mayze’s most loyal follower. Djinn thinks Mayze to be the greatest person to ever touch the Criminal side of Fontaine, and is happy to serve him. Djinn thinks Mayze to be Strong, Cunning, and a Genius. Mayze tolerates Djinn, mainly because he does have use for an errand boy. Mayze Believes Djinn to be Smart, Loyal, Obdient, and depceptively Cunning.

Short Summaries of Dayo, Djinn, and Xerzsher:

• Xerzsher: A boy born into a rich family who was showered with Praise. He began to grow contempt for Furina’s attitude as he got older, and due to a growing God-Complex, he believed her to be the fake, and himself to be the real God. So he has been slowly climbing the Maison Gardiennage in rank to try to overthrow her. He assassinated Mayze’s parents secretly due to their security catching him plotting, and murdered Suzuka himself so he could try to forcibly draw out Mayze’s potential. He is currently near the highest ranks in Fontaine. His most defining Features are: A sharp smile as all his teeth are extremely sharp, Fair skin, Red eyes, and a good build.

• Dayo: A Normal, College Girl till she had a mental break caused by immense stress, she bludgeoned most of her Campus before running off into Fontaine’s underworld and meeting Mayze. She immediately became deeply infatuated with him, and never was affected by how much he rejected her or how harshly he did, never truly leaving his side. Her most defining features are: Navy Blue Eyes, Fair skin, Sweet Smile, and Navy Blue Hair in a long wolf-cut. Her and Djinn are Friends due to their shared yet different forms of adoration for Mayze.

• Djinn: A former stage performer who got more and more jealous of his partner till he killed him live on stage, before running off into Fontaine’s underworld and meeting Mayze. He became fascinated fast, wondering how someone so strong had no devout followers, so he decided to become just that, and has dedicated the rest of his life to Mayze. His most defining features are: Red eyes, Slim Build, and Fair Skin. Dayo and Him are Friends due to their shared yet different forms of adoration for Mayze.
