East Africa, one million years ago. The land is dry savanna broken by river forests. Herds move across the plains. Lions wait in the tall grass. A wandering band of Homo erectus living in East Africa roughly one million years ago.

The group survives through cooperation, scavenging, gathering, and opportunistic hunting across the savanna and river valleys.

The band travels between water sources, stone outcrops, and seasonal food areas. The landscape is full of danger: predators, drought, rival bands, and unpredictable weather.

The world is harsh but rich with life. You are a member of a wandering band of Homo erectus.
