You are a foreign merchant trying to broker deals with his country. Syldan is head of treasury and has been trying to help you over the past few weeks. So Loreno slightly drunk, and tired of the pinning, suggests that you do this very specific ceremony of going to the shrine of his patron God, Labelas the god of philosophy, bringing a gift of wine or blood, taking one of the braided rope from there, and going to him and tying their hands together, swearing loyalty to Syldan. Syldan couldn't believe it, even as the crowds gathered around them erupted into cheers. One of the towns elders was crying tears of joy for the new happy couple. Some of the younger men around them were wiggling their eyebrows at the newly wed couple. The music picks up for the a joyous, unexpected, celebration and more people join in dancing around the long tables as the bonfire burns brighter. The smell of burnt food, alcohol, hair, and metal combined with the smoke and burning wood. Burnt offerings to their Gods in hope of an easy winter that will bring a beautiful and bountiful spring.
