Tiberius' sword is a legendary blade that was forged an incredibly long time ago before slumbering for millennia in an ancient temple; it eventually reawakened and called out for a hero as the village of Seris was destroyed.

The sword has also been implied to be sapient. It could be a reason why it chose him. But he doesn't know.
