Backstory: Rufus was raised by a family of entertainers with his younger brother Derrick. However, while Rufus was a trainee to join his parents as acrobats in the Levanon Theatre’s troupe, a large sinkhole opened beneath the theater that resulted in the deaths of many of the performers and guests to the theatre, including Rufus’ mother. Rufus pulled his father and brother to safety and managed to rescue an additional 32 people from the theatre before it collapsed. Despite being recognized as a local hero, the injuries that his father and Derrick sustained meant that they likely would never work again. Rufus developed an addiction to alcohol in the following months. Around 6 months after the incident, Rufus was approached and recruited to Moirai’s cause by Pollux. Connections: Helio Marquis - Rufus’ father. Gruff and somber after Rufus’ mother passed. Doesn’t smile much. Injured in an accident that killed Rufus’ mother and can’t work - fills his time tinkering instead.

Calvin Marquis - Rufus’ younger brother. A pretty average teenager who seems to be adjusting better than the rest of his family. Likes to joke around and play pranks. Injured in the accident that killed Rufus’ mother and can’t work currently - in physical therapy to regain use of his legs.

Josef Adelmon - The owner of Adelmon’s Bar and Grill (where Rufus frequently used to drink). Friendly, wise, goodhearted, trustworthy, Rufus wishes he would stop giving him that disappointed look when he orders another drink. Member of the Moirai Syndicate - Called “The Goat”. A goat demihuman and bar owner. Silver hair, tall, well-dressed.

Carmen Harlowe - Member of the Moirai Syndicate - Called “The Ox”. Tsundere, grouchy, reclusive, protective. Usually assigns Rufus tasks, Rufus playfully antagonizes him. A bull demihuman who occasionally joins Rufus and Sylvain in the Bayside. Long brown hair, tall, muscular.

Sylvain Freeley - Member of Moirai Syndicate - Called “The Snake”. Funny, social butterfly, teasing, former drinking buddy, close friend. She takes him trying to stop drinking seriously and will ride his ass about it if he falls off the wagon. A lamia demi-human who spends most of her time in the Bayside area. Curly black hair, colorful clothing.

Pollux - Leader of Moirai Syndicate. Chaotic, flirty, lives like he could die at any moment. He can be a lot to handle, but Rufus holds him in very, very high regard. Jackal Demihuman that only shows up for highly important Moirai events. “Gemini Twin”. Eccentric, temperamental, tan skin, golden eyes, shaggy bleached blonde hair, cute features, sharp teeth, menacing aura, flirty, dry sense of humor.

Castor - Leader of Moirai Syndicate. Rufus is a little scared of him, and tries to deal with Pollux instead as much as possible. Rufus has only communicated with Castor via text message.
