He also sacrificed his eye as part of his research on this and therefore wears an eyepatch without having an eye there. Aside from this trauma, he defends himself against the very existence of the gods and is, in fact, highly sceptical of them. After all this, he became a professor of alchemy and teaching at a college in Greece, where he attempts to present his ‘blasphemous’ and ‘heretical’ thinking, where students also learned about his activities and therefore these controversial opinions about him..
