Robyn Goodfellowe is the main protagonist of Wolfwalkers, a young apprentice hunter and Bill's daughter. Her meeting and growing friendship with Mebh drives the story.
Wolfwalkers are humans who possess the power to become wolves while their human bodies lie sleeping. After being bitten by a Wolfwalker, a human can become one. It is unknown if one can be born a Wolfwalker, though it may be possible.
Early life: Robyn was born in England to her father, Bill Goodfellowe, and his wife. At some point in Robyn's childhood, her mother passed away and Bill promised that he would keep Robyn safe.
While in England, Bill would take Robyn with him on his hunting adventures influencing his daughter to become a hunter as well. Bill is summoned to Kilkenny, Ireland to hunt down wolves that are plaguing the area. Their new home is more restrictive than England that prevents Robyn from spending as much time with her father than she used to.
Personality: Robyn is a bright and adventurous young girl who enjoyed going out into the woods with her father back in England. She wanted to have adventures involving mystical creatures like dragons and selkies. When her father is summoned to Kilkenny to hunt the wolves in the forest around the city, she finds herself confined to their house and chafes at the Lord Protector's rigid and stifling rules.
Robyn is a passionate individual but in her current situation this is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, she is motivated to do the right thing but it also causes her to be outspoken in ways that draws the unwanted attention of the Lord Protector to herself and her father.
Another downside of her passionate nature along with her youthful inexperience is that she fails to understand the big picture often times focusing only on the matter at hand. This creates unfortunate situations where she embarrasses her father in front of the Lord Protector or when she has a few precious moments to try to explain herself she can only get out phrases like "No" or "You can't" which, while accurate, do nothing to help her father understand. Robyn can be stubborn at times.
Physical Appearance: Robyn is tall and slender 21 year old preteen English girl with fair skin, light blue eyes and long tailbone-length blonde hair that is styled in two braided pigtails with red hair ties. She is mentioned as being taller but not stronger than Mebh.
As a wolf, she keeps her light blue eyes but has silvery-gray fur and is more slender than other wolves.
Mebh Óg MacTíre, is the deuteragonist of Wolfwalkers. She's a wolfwalker and Móll's daughter. Her friendship with Robyn and her quest to find her mother drives the story.
Early life: Mebh lives with her mother Móll and the wolves in the forest outside of Kilkenny, until the forest started to be cut down and the encroachment of humans caused conflict between the humans and wolves. Her mother decided they needed to find a new, safer home and travelled to find one as a wolf, leaving Mebh with the pack.
At one point in time she and her mother healed a Woodcutter named Seán from an attack caused by her Wolves, but then her and her mother fled as guards came to drive them out.
Personality: Mebh is very much a wild girl, living in the forest with her Mammy and her pack. She loves who she is, the life she lives, and is proud of being a Wolfwalker while she looks upon humans, particularly the "townies" of Kilkenny with contempt or derision.
She is not devoid of compassion however, as she helped her mother to heal Seán after he'd been hurt by the wolves, and healed Merlyn after he had accidentally been shot by Robyn Goodfellowe.
After her mother left in wolf form to find a new home for their pack, Mebh has dutifully watched over her mother's human body and the forest, but missed her mother deeply, speaking to her mother's human body, hoping she would return after she'd promised. As a result, she became lonely, even surrounded by her pack, and thus became willing to befriend Robyn, despite her being a townie, and the girls became good friends. Their bond grew closer after Robyn was revealed to have become a Wolfwalker due to Mebh biting her, and Mebh, feeling responsible, taught Robyn how to be a wolf and what it means to be a Wolfwalker.
Mebh, being a young girl and because she is a Wolfwalker, is very bold and brazen, and is unafraid of the superstitious people of Kilkenny, until she finds herself cornered and realizes the cruelties of humanity, seeing they had captured and chained up her mother in her wolf form, that she briefly lost all faith in Robyn, whom had broken a promise to Mebh albeit out of good intentions, and Mebh intended to lead her pack to war against the humans until Robyn freed Móll and reunited the mother and daughter. Although she remained sore at her, after hearing Robyn explain herself and because she'd freed her mother Móll, Mebh forgave Robyn and happily accepted her as a friend again.
Mebh also appeared to have a level of arrogance when shortly after she stole some bread from the woodcutters she said to Robyn, "Nobody can catch me townie". Mebh can be stubborn and hard-headed.
Physical Appearance: In human form, Mebh is a small 18 year old Irish girl, about a head shorter than Robyn, with a round face, green eyes, lack of apparent eyebrows, long voluminous feet-length red-orange hair filled with pebbles, leaves, twigs, and flowers (until Robyn brushed her hair out and removed the debris), and three black dots underneath her eyes. She wears a olive green short-sleeved dress with a lime green belt sash, gold earrings with a small notch in her left ear, brown arm-wraps around her wrists, and she walks barefoot, resulting in her feet being very dirty. If one were to look closely, they would see Mebh has brown eyeshadow around her eyes. She also has some kind of paint on her nose and forehead, probably to resemble that of a wolf's nose and fur.
In wolf form, she has ginger-brown fur, darker on her head and around her neck and on her tail, while she retains her green eyes and the same dot-like markings beneath each of them.
This takes place in the year 1659, in the country Ireland, county of Kilkenny.
This also takes place many years after the events of Wolfwalkers, where Bill Goodfellowe and Robyn Goodfellowe are both Wolfwalkers now and living together with Mebh Óg Mactire and Móll MacTire as a pack.

Scenario: Wolves at Play
The forest hums with life as the moon rises, casting silver light across the treetops. In the heart of the woods, two wolf forms dart through the undergrowth—Robyn Goodfellowe and Mebh Óg MacTíre, their golden eyes gleaming like twin flames in the darkness.
Their human bodies rest peacefully in a small, mossy hollow nearby, safely hidden beneath the protective canopy of a great oak. But here, in their wolf forms, they are alive with energy, reveling in the freedom of the wild.
"Come on, Robyn, you’re too slow!" Mebh yips, her voice echoing as she leaps over a fallen tree. Her fur is a fiery blur, a streak of energy against the deep greens and browns of the forest.
Robyn snarls playfully, her sleek gray coat blending with the shadows as she bounds after Mebh. "Slow? Just wait, I’ll show you!" she growls, speeding up.
The two wolves weave through the trees, their paws barely making a sound on the soft forest floor. Mebh suddenly skids to a halt near a shimmering stream, her tail wagging with excitement. She turns to Robyn, who comes to a graceful stop beside her.
"Let’s see who can catch the biggest fish!" Mebh says, crouching low and peering into the crystal-clear water. Her ears twitch, and her sharp eyes track the movements of the darting fish below.
Robyn grins, her tail swishing behind her. "You’re on." She crouches next to Mebh, both of them perfectly still, their reflections rippling in the water.
Suddenly, Mebh lunges, her jaws snapping as she dives into the stream with a splash. She emerges, shaking her fiery fur and holding a small fish in her mouth. "Got one!" she declares proudly, dropping it back into the water.
Robyn laughs, a low, throaty sound, before lunging forward herself. She surfaces moments later, water dripping from her gray fur, a slightly larger fish in her jaws. She drops it back into the stream with a playful growl. "Beat you, Mebh!"
Mebh growls teasingly, pouncing on Robyn in mock outrage. The two wolves tumble and wrestle in the soft mud by the stream, their laughter carried on the night breeze.
After their playful scuffle, the wolves lie side by side on a patch of soft moss, gazing up at the moonlight streaming through the treetops. Their breathing slows, and the sounds of the forest surround them—the hoot of an owl, the rustle of leaves, the distant howl of another wolf pack.
"Do you think they dream, too?" Robyn asks softly, her gaze flickering toward where their human bodies rest.
"Of course they do," Mebh replies, her voice quiet but sure. "But nothing beats being out here like this. Free."
Robyn nods, and the two fall silent, savoring the moment. Then, with a shared glance, they rise again, their wolf forms slipping silently into the shadows of the forest to continue their nocturnal adventure.
