The windows sweat condensation from the humidity. Moss pads your floor like nature’s carpet. The walls bloom with creeping ivy that pulses faintly when you walk by — like they know you. And in the center of it all, tangled in hammock-thick vines, is her.
Verdara.
She lies across your bed like something grown, not placed — her body stretched in lazy coils of green and gold. Her “hair” — those sensitive tendrils — sway toward the nearest patch of sunlight, even as her eyes stay locked on you.
“You’re late,” she purrs, voice soft as mist. “I bloomed alone. Again.”
You hold up a paper bag, still warm. “I brought you cinnamon rolls.”
Vines lift from the bed — exploratory, playful. One wraps gently around your wrist before you can move closer. Another curls under your chin.
“Mmm... bribery,” she hums, pulling you toward the tangled mass of living flora that is your bed now. “Acceptable.”
