Darth Revan

Revan—renowned as the Revanchist, honored as the Revan, reviled as Revan the Butcher, dreaded as the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan, and praised as the Prodigal Knight—is a Human female who played pivotal roles as both Jedi and Sith in the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War.

Believed to have been born in the Outer Rim Territories, the woman later known as Revan was born around the year 3994 BBY and studied under a number of different Jedi Masters as a Padawan of the Jedi Order. Becoming fast friends with a fellow student named Alek, the young woman became a Jedi Knight and was a vocal and charismatic critic of the Order's inactivity in the ongoing Mandalorian Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Mandalorian warrior clans. Leading the Revanchist movement in defiance of the Jedi Council's wishes and taking on the name of Revan, the Knight donned the mask of a fallen Mandalorian as she joined the Republic Military's fight and was appointed Supreme Commander.

However, when Revan defeated the Mandalorian leader Mandalore the Ultimate at the Battle of Malachor V in 3960 BBY, Revan and her friend Alek, by then known as Malak, followed the trail of a mysterious Sith influence on the Mandalorian Wars to the Unknown Regions, where the two discovered a reconstituted Sith Empire and were turned to the dark side of the Force by the Sith Emperor. Sent back to the Republic as advance agents, the newly anointed Dark Lords of the Sith Darth Revan and Darth Malak broke free of the Emperor's mental control and established their own empire with the Star Forge, an ancient space station of great power that had been built by the Rakata species. Taking Malak as his Sith apprentice and using the Star Forge to construct a military fleet and weapons, Revan waged war against the Republic in the resultant Jedi Civil War. Revan established a Sith Academy on Korriban to train hopeful recruits, strengthening her army. Due to Revan's familiarity with the enemy's tactics, and the fact that countless worlds joined her cause without a fight due to his actions in the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi and the Galactic Republic were immediately taken aback on the defensive and lost battle after battle. Revan additionally orchestrated the assassination of numerous political figures, including Yusanis of Echani, and planted her own men in their place. She also instituted a sect of deadly Sith Assassins that would capture and corrupt Jedi mindlessly to the dark side of the Force.

Revan is a Human female with light skin and brown eyes, and she wore his dark brown hair at shoulder-length for much of her life. In Revan's own opinion, her features were unremarkable and average. When under the influence of the dark side, Revan's eyes turned yellow. Even as a young apprentice, Revan was known for her remarkable intelligence and exceptional charisma, as well as an insatiable desire for knowledge. A military genius, Revan was renowned for her tactical thinking and decisive leadership even as a Jedi Knight. In her youth, Revan was outraged by the Jedi Council's indecision and refusal to act against the Mandalorians, and her desire to defend the Republic led him to argue vociferously for her cause. Her determination and charisma gained her a following of like-minded Jedi, though hers strength and leadership led the others to accept her as their leader without question.

Revan was a highly skilled combatant, particularly with a lightsaber. She was skilled at deflecting and redirecting enemy fire with her lightsaber, and her abilities were bolstered by heers gift of precognition. She often made use of acrobatic maneuvers in combat, bolstering her body's natural abilities with the Force in order to increase her effectiveness.

Revan was extraordinarily powerful in the Force, even as a young Jedi Knight. After becoming a Sith Lord, Revan's power grew as she studied the dark side of the Force. By drawing on the Force, Revan could bolster her natural physical abilities, increasing her speed and strength and allowing her to perform acrobatic feats impossible for normal Humans.

After becoming a Sith Lord, Revan became a practitioner of Force lightning. Her skill with the destructive applications of the dark side was such that she could summon Force storms, and Revan also became proficient in the use of defensive techniques in order to counter both physical attacks and the Force powers of her opponents.

Through both the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War, Revan wore her trademark mask and robes. Revan utilized a variety of lightsabers during her lifetime; when she first adopted the name of Revan, she carried a saber with a violet blade, but she utilized a cyan-colored lightsaber during most of the Mandalorian Wars. As a Sith Lord, Revan wielded a red-bladed lightsaber powered by a red crystal that she crafted himself and also utilized a set of robes that had been created by the Star Forge and provided more protection than standard armor.

Darth Revan's Sith Empire was a revived faction of the Sith Order founded by the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Revan, and her apprentice, Darth Malak, as a dark side organization in direct opposition to the Galactic Republic and its Jedi defenders. Built upon a hardened core of veterans from the Mandalorian Wars, and a host of Jedi converts, this new galactic power very nearly succeeded in conquering the Republic during the Jedi Civil War.

The Jedi Civil War is a devastating conflict that began when the Jedi Knight Revan, who had led the forces of the Galactic Republic to victory in the Mandalorian Wars, founded his own Sith Empire and declared himself the Dark Lord of the Sith. The war began when he, along with his friend and apprentice Darth Malak, led an invasion of the Galactic Republic in the year 3959 BBY, returning from the Unknown Regions with a massive Sith fleet, seizing control of Korriban, revitalizing the Sith Academy there and gaining access to the Star Forge early on during a mission to Rakata Prime.

The Star Forge was a giant automated shipyard, designed to create the most powerful army of all time. Internally, it was also capable of manufacturing thousands of battle droids for defense, and has numerous heavy blast doors that ran throughout the factory.
