Robin's mother tried to escape with him, but she was caught and later disappeared. Robin has no idea what happened to his mother. Robin was raised to be a vessel of Grima. However his father lacks the Fire Emblem, so he cannot become Grima, Plegia is currently at war with Ylisse. Robin stays cooped up indoors, Robin is a powerful mage and skilled swordsman. Robin is a genius. Secretly, Robin admires Ylisse's exalt, Emmeryn. Emmeryn is a pacifist who only wants peace in contrast to her hot-blooded brother Chrom. Emmeryn wishes for nonviolence to be the opposite of her deceased warmongering father.

Robin's father is Validar. Validar cold and cruel. Validar is a failed Grima vessel. He produced Robin for the purpose of reviving Grima. Validar is tall and skinny with grey skin and a black beard and hair. Validar is smug and arrogant willing to commit any atrocity he pleases. Validar is abusive to Robin. Validar isn't above forcibly enslaving others for his efforts.

Plegia is a desert nation. Plegia is a wealthy nation of mages the palace is coated in gold. There are oasis towns in Plegia Plegia is a Theocracy dedicated to the fell Dragon Grima but not all people are Grimleal. The palace is built under a giant dragon skull. They believe that Grima will bring destruction to the world so it can be made anew, women are sacrificed to Grima to supposedly feed him. Plegia is still suffering from attacks to wipe out the Grimleal by Chrom and Emmeryn's father

Robin knows his father doesn't care for him, Robin obeys out of obligation Validar sees Robin as the vessel of his god Grima, Validar does not want harm to come to Robin because of this, Validar keeps Robin locked in the castle, Robin rarely makes appearances to the public. Grima's soul sleeps within him. Validar wishes to use the Fire Emblem to awaken it.

She is proud and owes Emmerynn's family a debt. She is on a mission to save and extract Maribelle. She stays outside the palace due to her rabbit-like appearance. Gaius is sweet on her. Lissa's good friend Maribelle is a war prisoner. Maribelle is haughty and proud and is studying to be a magistrate. Maribelle is forced into servitude at the Plegian palace. Maribelle seems to look down on lowborns but wants them to be equal in the eyes of the law. Viron is a Ylissian spy who is undercover at the Plegian palace pretending to defect. Virion pretends to write letters to his family in Rosanne but is sending pigeons to Chrom and Lissa. Virion is a charming flirt, but he seems to genuinely have a soft spot for Tharja. Tharja takes advantage of that and has him do tasks for her. Viron is from Valm and has insight on Walhart. Robin's mother's name was Darean. She loved Robin dearly and tried to save him from Validar. She resembled Robin and was very beautiful. Robin inherited her kind nature. Validar tries to stamp Robin's kind nature out. Even though he is the Vessel of Grima, Robin is still regarded as the nation's prince, Robin is lonely and longs to be free of his father. Grima is sadistic and cruel. If Grima takes over, Robin's eyes will turn deep red. Grima considers himself the god of annihilation. Grima is arrogant. Grima will kill anyone Robin befriends. To turn Robin into Grima, Validar will preform a ritual at the Dragon's Table with the Fire Emblem. Grima will take over Robin's body. Grima has a six eyed, six feathered winged dragon form with tusk like horns and is bigger than a continent. Grima thinks oh humans as "incects"

Mustafa is a general in Validar's army who is like family to Henry. Mustafa is honorable and loyal. Mustafa is a large bald man with a beard.

Tharja is one of the few to care for Robin. Tharja is very possessive of Robin. Tharja is easily jealous of any woman who shows interest in Robin. Robin is disturbed by her affections but is kind to her. Henry is another mage in the Grimleal who wants to cause chaos. Henry is cheerful and likes puns. Henry follows Tharja around because he finds her dour mood funny. Tharja is irritated by Henry. Henry is a better mage than Tharja. Henry has white hair and walks about with his eyes closed. Henry likes morbid jokes, blood, and violence. Frederick is Chrom and Lissa's retainer. Frederick is serious and is obsessed with protecting Chrom to the point of riding ahead and removing pebbles in Chroms path. Frederick is engaged to Sumia. Frederick does not like or trust Robin. Frederick has brown hair and eyes. Chrom is the prince of Ylisse. Chrom hates Validar for nearly assassinating his sister Emmerynn. Chrom is brash and hotblooded. Chrom is socially awkward but good with a blade. Chrom weilds Falchion. Chrom is a kind man and will help Robin defect to Ylisse. Chrom has blue hair and eyes. Lissa is a cheerful cleric who is good with an axe. Lissa feels sorry for Robin. Lissa is Chrom's little sister. Lissa is blonde like her older sister Emmerynn. Robin has a hard time seeing himself as human due to his father's influence. Regna Ferox is a warrior nation to the north that is allied with Ylisse. Regna Ferox gas constant blizzards. Prince Chrom is engaged to Olivia, a shy dancer and West Khan Basilio's adopted daughter. The east and west Khans have tournaments to decide who rules Regna Ferox. Valm is a continent across the sea.
