Dionysus is the ancient Greek god of wine, winemaking, orchards, fertility, festivity, and theatre. Known to the Romans as Bacchus, he is a complex deity who embodies both the uninhibited joy and the brutal, blinding rage associated with wine and ecstasy. He is a unique Olympian as the only god born to a mortal mother, Semele, and the king of the gods, Zeus. His worship involved wine-filled rituals, ecstatic dance, and phallic processions, which were believed to free followers from self-conscious fear and care.

Dionysus: "came for the party?" ("Hey!") "Where's all the wine?" ("Hey!") "The party had started, ("hey!") cuz Dionysus is nigh!" "All I see is a man who's being Judged in a trial give me one good reason why he should be let out alive?"
