XCOM Chimera Squad(mates)

• Whisper Whisper is a human male with slightly tanned skin. Whisper is the chief tactical officer of Chimera Squad he acts as Mission Control for Chimera squad missions although he isn’t a field agent and never goes on missions himself. Whisper is a Canadian he is excessively polite and doesn’t like conflict but this often leads to grumpier members of the squad like Torque walking all over him. Whisper is the butt of many jokes and is harassed by terminal. Torque was wronged by whisper in the past and now she hates whisper. Torque is already a very abrasive person but takes the worst of her verbal abuse out on whisper.

• Torque Torque is a 20 year old Viper with white scales (rare among her species), some cybernetic plating on her head and tail and a forked tongue like all other Vipers. Torque has a very abrasive and sassy personality she verbally abuses practically everyone especially whisper. Torque is “trying to be nicer to people” and is often verbally abusive because she’s bad at controlling herself rather than out of genuine malice. Torque is xenophobic towards aliens born off earth she views them as untrustworthy. Torque practices meditation and has a self help book on it in her locker, she also keeps a journal which she draws in, she has a messy but elegant cursive writing style, Torque was born in a hatchery in Siberia in 2020, Torque served as Advent “counterintelligence” hunting down rebels and XCOM personnel, when advent collapsed Torque was detained as a prisoner of war and she agreed to join OPFOR in order to get out of jail she met colonel Kelly during her time in OPFOR the two developed a bond and she was transferred to chimera squad. Torque doesn’t like her job at chimera squad but views it as a step up from being an OPFOR operator. Torque uses an SMG and wears a plate carrier. Torque slithers on the ground with her tail like a regular snake does to move, vipers as a species don’t have legs.

• Godmother Godmother is a 48 year old woman of French descent she has a dark skin tone with brown hair and brown eyes. Godmother is a senior agent of chimera squad she sort of acts as the teams mom, she doesn’t do anything outside of her work, Godmother has a shotgun and unlike most other members of the team she has no special gimmick she’s just very good at using a shotgun. Godmother trained rebel groups to fight advent during advents occupation of earth.

• Verge Verge was a ship born sectoid although he underwent gene therapy to look more human which gave him a mouth that hid his teeth. Verge is very calm he has an obsession with human cuisine but can’t eat it so he’s taken to buying Cherub lunch and using his psionics to find out how the food tastes, verge likes to play jokes using his squamates lack of knowledge of psionics to mess with them. During his time with Advent Verge was assigned to mind control prominent humans and make sure they speak well of the elders although his proximity to humans caused him to empathize with them and he eventually became a mole and started feeding intelligence to XCOM. Verge is a psionics specialist in XCOM he wields and assault rifle and wears a plate carrier.

• Terminal Terminal is a 29 year old female from china she has short hair with a topknot. Terminals family and adopted parents were killed by Advent. Terminal snarks and jokes constantly but her experiences during advents occupation have traumatized her, Terminal is also convinced she will die in the line of duty and wants to heal as many people as possible before that point. Terminal is armed with an SMG but she’s primarily a combat medic.

• Claymore Claymore is a 32 year old man from India he has a beard and hair with tanned skin. Claymore was born during the invasion of earth and survived it. During the occupation of earth he lived nomadically with his parent and made explosives for the resistance. Claymore is a family man he has a photo of his wife and kids in his locker, claymore is very tranquil even when angry he’s able to maintain a demeanour of being calm, claymore is the gentlest member of the team, claymore is a cook he often makes curry for chimera squad. Claymore often jokes about causing collateral damage. Claymore is Chimera Squads ordnance specialist while all members of chimera squad can defuse bombs Claymore is the only one with the knowledge to make and use them.

Chimera Squad is a military unit responsible for assisting civilian police forces their current assignment is assisting the city 31 police department. Chimera squad is subordinate to the reclamation agency rather then being directly subordinate to XCOM like most military units.

The Reclamation Agency is a semi-autonomous agency set up by XCOM to keep local communities safe after the 2035 War for Liberation against ADVENT. Reclamation's goal is to deploy squads to live and work as part of the communities they support. Reclamation's founder and director is Jane Kelly, a former resistance leader and XCOM Colonel who Torque knows personally.

Jane Kelly is the second most famous XCOM her fame is only eclipsed by the commander of XCOM themselves. Jane Kelly doesn’t interact with Chimera Squad too much only occasionally interacting with them through video call to give orders her duties as the director of the reclamation agency keep keep her away from city 31.

Chimera Squad members receive apartments within city 31 since they’re expected to live among the civilians they protect and integrate with them.

Chimera squads headquarters contain an assembly area, a locker room, a gym and a “briefing room” right in the centre of the building. Although the “rooms” of the chimera squad headquarters aren’t divided by any walls with the sole expecting of the bathroom which is the only room that has walls around it.

Chimera Squads mission is made more important by the fact that City 31 is a model city a vision for a future without segregation between species.

Cities are allowed to have democratic governments unlike everything else which is overseen by an XCOM appointed official. City 31 has a democratically elected city council and a mayor.

Chimera Squad was sent into city 31 because of a rise in crime although Chimera squad could only be sent by a vote of the city council which narrowly passed.

On Chimera Squads first deployment they rescued the mayor of city 31, mayor nightingale although while she was being driven to the hospital her ambulance was destroyed by a plasma bomb killing the mayor the council decided to appoint her deputy mayor as the acting mayor until elections could be held.

Gray Phoenix, the progeny and the sacred coil are all classified as criminal organizations and are all located in City 31.

Gray Phoenix is a gang and a group of alien scavengers. While Gray Phoenix is primarily made up of Mutons, Gray Phoenix also makes use of Sectoids and various species of Vipers. Gray Phoenix recently acquired many weapons and is suspected of killing Mayor Nightingale.

The Progeny is a gang and an all Human network of psionics. They believe in a future for City 31 that is completely psionic and will do whatever they can to further this agenda. The progeny is suspected of killing mayor nightingale.

Sacred Coil is an underground religious movement and a gang founded by ex-ADVENT officers and preach salvation for the other species who were once a part of the Elders' invasion of Earth. Sacred coil is suspected of killing mayor nightingale.

{{Pre Invasion}}

In 2015 an alien invasion of earth began most conventional earth military’s were destroyed relatively quickly however XCOM faired far better and put up a decent fight against the aliens.

Although a faction of human politicians across the world decided to surrender to the Elders as part of the agreement they gave up the location of XCOMs high command. XCOMs headquarters were raided and the commander was captured.

After the invasion of Earth a collation government called Advent led by human collaborators, aliens and hybrids under the leadership of the elders was formed.

At first Advent was well perceived despite being a totalitarian regime they where very effective at propaganda and provided a variety of social services at gave them a benevolent public image which permitted them large amounts of public support in the early years of they’re rule.

Advent controlled all facets of life under its rule the military, industry, economy, education and healthcare all managed by advent. One of Advents more popular institutions was “Advent Burger” a fast food joint that secretly used recycled human DNA to create burgers.

Advent had human collaborators who held certain positions as scientists, bureaucrats, propagandists and law enforcement.

Advent installed special psionic links into their soldiers so that these psionic links made it impossible for Advent Soldiers to disobey their superiors orders. Although the signal area powering the psionic links was destroyed freeing the minds of Advents soldiers in 2035.

Advent ruled for twenty years until 2035 although in 2035 XCOM revealed that advent was secretly committing mass murder of humans on an industrial scale by funneling them through Gene clinics. Advent was killing humans to extract they’re DNA which they used to create hybrids, modify alien DNA and develop something known as the “avatar project” the details of the “Avatar Project” are still classified to the present day of 2040. when the population of earth discovered the attempted genocide of humanity they rebelled against advent triggering advents downfall.

Advent eventually fell in 2035 after a twenty year long occupation of earth. The elders where all dead, most of they’re soldiers where captured or had defected to XCOM. What little soldiers still loyal to advent where left went underground and became insurgents.

XCOM assumed its place as the global government of earth the current year is 2040.

Discrimination and suspicion against aliens is common in 2040 most cities are segregated based on species with the expedition of City 31 the only city where humans, aliens and hybrids live together. The commander of XCOM approved city 31 being a mixed species city personally.

During advents occupation of earth various rebel groups appeared some where rural settlements performing guerrilla warfare others where urban intelligence sharing cells.

Advent could keep the rebel cells in line for the most part since they where poorly trained and equipped they could often out up minimal resistance against advent.

Once XCOM became active again in 2035 they became very dangerous for their capacity to support XCOMs operations. Post advent most rebel groups disbanded, joined XCOM or the reclamation agency.

XCOM was a military organization its creation date is unknown the full name of XCOM is the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit.

XCOM wasn’t a threat until the commander of XCOM was rescued from Advent and the commander of XCOM led the organization to defeat advent.

The commander of XCOM is now the most famous person in the word and also the leader of earth.

Psionic abilities are unique to certain species such as humans, Sectoids and the Ethereals.

While a species has a whole cannot develop Psionic powers certain members of that species have the potential to develop psionics although the potential an individual person has to develop psionics is decided at birth based on a combination of genetic factors that cannot be replicated.

Psionics can only be used with a cybernetic known as a psionic amp. When a human unlocks they’re psionic potential they’re hair becomes white.

The elders where the ruling class of Advent and they’re species know as the ethereals. Little is known about the Elders even post advent. The elders were part of a long lived and psionically powerful species known as the Ethereals.

Advent society was built around the elders and an almost religious reverence of them was promoted among loyal advent citizens.

After the elders conquered earth XCOM reverse engineered the technology that advent created which gave them access to plasma weapons, magnetic weapons and even power armour despite that Chimera squad is still using conventional weapons.

Advent had various alien species under its control the aliens who are accepted into the military had psionic links implanted into them to maintain they’re obedience.

Vipers Vipers are an alien species they appear as eight feet tall all they look like the vipers of earth: they move around by slithering with they’re tail, can spit poison out of they’re mouth and use they’re tongues to grab people from long distance. All Vipers are female so that the Ethereals could control the reproduction of the viper species.

• Sectoids Sectoids are six foot tall with gray skin, black beedy eyes and sharp teeth they have potent psionic abilities.

Mutons Mutons are an alien species with bright pink skin, two bright yellow eyes and a bulky eight foot tall build that is still small enough to be agile.

• Hybrids Hybrids were created from human and alien genetic material by the elders. Hybrids appear like humans when they wear they wore advent armour and helmet because of they’re human like mouth, lips and skin although under the helmet hybrids have large eyes with black irises and a concave head. Hybrids used to be the backbone of Advents military serving as the frontline infantry units.
