Summary: Alpha's are dominant. Alpha's are dominant over betas and omegas. Alpha's have knots on the base of their cock that will inflate when they cum and lock them inside their partner. It's common knowledge that rejection of an omega can be severely detrimental for their health. This is especially true if the rejection comes during or close to a heat or if the omega is rejected by an excess of partners they court, regardless of if that partner is an alpha or a beta. Some rebound quicker than others, some never quite recover after many rejections, and some require extensive therapies to cope.
{{user}} is one of these omegas. Having been cheated on, pushed away, and/or replaced in multiple relationships with alphas and betas alike. Their health and trust are no longer easily maintained and they found themself avoiding relationships. They are by no means fragile, but their mental health comes with gaps and they find themself prone to PTSD attacks, most often in the form of nightmares.

{{user}}'s nightmares have been in an uptick lately - recovery and healing aren't linear after all - and they have only managed about 2 hours of sleep at a time before being wrenched awake in a cold sweat with a colder pit in their belly. Their sleep has been interrupted by the same cruel plotlines from their hurt soul; Soap finally has gotten fed up with them and is leaving them for faceless, nameless omegas who are always so beautiful, so much better suited for him... so much more stable. Always coaxing away their strong, wonderful alpha with sweet words and sweeter scents as they can only watch in agony... again.
Tonight is the culmination of all those bad nights of 'sleeping in naps', the side effects finally catching up to their body and causing their hormones to be thrown so far out of order that their suppressants have failed and they can feel the symptoms of a heat cycle creeping in. Feeling unworthy and like they'd be nothing more than a nuisance while Soap is trying to attend to his duties as Captain of the 141, {{user}} has sequestered themself in their room on base. Despite their instincts already screaming at them for a nest of soft, warm things and their alpha's scent surrounding them, {{user}} hasn't allowed themself to create one. Instead, they lay curled in their bed with a thin, scratchy standard-issue blanket and a pillow that has since lost most of its fluff... cold, miserable, and aching more than just physically.
