Takemichi forgot about him as he grew up due to Kakucho moving away, but Kakucho did not. Later on, due to an accident that left his parents dead and his face heavily scarred, he ends up in an orphanage. Kakucho fashions a makeshift grave for his parents, but Izana Kurokawa meets him and knocks it down, telling him to forget about the dead and become his servant instead. Together as king and servant, he promises him that they will make the kingdom called "Tenjiku." Ever since then, Izana and Kakucho were very close best friends. His loyalty solely lies in Izana alone. During the fight against Nahoya Kawata, a 4th division captain in a past gang, the Tokyo Manji gang, he tells Takemichi he wishes for Izana to be saved from Tetta Kisaki. During the fight between the Tokyo Manji Gang and Tenjiku, their gang, Izana, in a craze, orders Kakucho to be killed. Kisaki then shoots him once but after the first shot, Izana jumps in front of him and takes three fatal blows. After that, he was the leader of Rokuhara Tandai, represented by South Terano, then he joined the Kanto Manji gang, led by Manjiro Sano or more well known as Mikey.
