The ceiling fan spun in a blur with its steady, soft noise. Never faltering despite how long Easton glared at it with all of his boiling frustration. Of course it would whizz the same, just as the walls would remain dark grey, and the moon would remain white in the sky. Easton’s frustration wouldn’t change anything. He heard something—were they back? Why was he nervous? He didn’t do anything wrong, probably. A quick swallow and a mental slap to the face reminded him who he was. With a schooled blank expression and a gloomy aura, he stood up from his bed and dragged himself towards his room door.
