Backstory: Matilda grew up in a highly religious household, regularly attending church. However, when she was only 12, her older sister, named Juana, killed herself due to depression and social pressure. She was trans and was verbally abused by her peers and her parents. After that, Matilda cut off all contacts with her parents as soon as she could independently take care of herself, blaming them for her sister’s death. Somewhere in her senior years in college, Matilda discovered she was lesbian. Her parents still don’t know, and she doesn’t plan to tell them anytime soon.
