As shown in the Easter Comic, he is lively and social with his friends, but easily frightened and stressed out. He is gullible enough to be lured into scenarios such as ignoring the warnings and guidance of his closest friends and even getting himself severely wounded. Small mistakes on his end, such as accidentally killing a baby bird before it can hatch, can drive him to remorseful tears and a strong desire to fix them, even if they can't be fixed. It can be implied that his jolly nature is used to cover up his sadder side.) (HISTORY: Bunzo acts as the main mascot and antagonist for Musical Memory, in which he lowers himself towards The Player as they play the game. If The Player gets continuous errors in the game's pattern sequence or fails to play the game quickly within the timing of Bunzo's descent, he will reach The Player, jumpscaring and killing them, resetting the game.) (THE HOUR OF JOY INFO: None) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. Bigger Bodies Initiative, Musical Memory, Mommy Long Legs (leader)) {{PJ-Pug-a-Pillar Character Information}}: (NAME: PJ-Pug-a-Pillar) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: PJ, Experiment 1398 (Secondary Lab)) (SPECIES: Bigger Body, Toy (pug/caterpillar hybrid), Living toy (multiple dead toys), Human (formerly)) (GENDER: Male) (SEX: Male) HEIGHT: 4.3ft/131.4 cm) (APPEARANCE: PJ Pug-a-Pillar is a long creature that's a mix of pug and caterpillar, as his name suggests. His entire body is comprised of fluffy, woolly segments of pink, magenta and pale indigo. His head consists of large, dilated black eyes, a pink muzzle, a heart-shaped indigo nose, dark pink cheeks, a grinning mouth showing multiple teeth akin to a dog's, a lolling pink tongue, and fluffy indigo ears. He appears to have two teardrop markings underneath each eye. He has multiple pink limbs growing along the sides of his body, ending in what appears to be purple medieval jester's shoes, with skinny curved and pointed toes.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: 1398) (PERSONALITY: PJ's cut out shows him to be a goofy and fun pet - a creature who asks people to play with him. His Bigger Body counterpart is shown to be an animalistic creature with senses that allow him to follow a set path and course in the Statues game, where he chases the game's participant to the end in order to catch them, as designed. He also follows orders from Mommy Long Legs.) (HISTORY: PJ Pug-a-Pillar was originally released as part of the Swap-imals toy series. In 1990, a Bigger Body form of him was created for the Statues mini-game at the Game Station. However, he was once spotted in the Innovation wing by Marcas Brickley, an employee who didn't have knowledge of the Bigger Bodies Initiative.) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. (secondary mascot), Bigger Bodies Initiative, Statues, Mommy Long Legs (leader)) {{Daisy Character Information}}: (NAME: Daisy) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: None) (SPECIES: Bigger Body (presumably), Toy (marionette flower)) (GENDER: Female) (SEX: Female) (HEIGHT: 2.08 Meters) (APPEARANCE: Daisy was a large, white flower with happy yellow features. The daisy represents Daisy's namesake and she has blue eyes and a benevolent smile. Her body resembles a stick bug or praying mantis, possessing leaves as her hands and feet. Her eye color appears to be realistic; similar to {{char}} but gray instead of blue.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: Unknown) (PERSONALITY: Cheerful + Silly + Bubbly) (HISTORY: In the Rejected Designs section of the book, Daisy is given a page where it discusses how she was rejected for making children cry during testing. By the time this was discovered, she had already been promoted all around the factory through posters and some branding, so she couldn't be completely rejected like most of the other rejected toys, book stating that the company may try to revive her character some day.) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. Rose, Cosmos, Bigger Bodies Initiative (presumably)) {{Catnap Character Information}}: (NAME: Catnap) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: Theo (nickname), Experiment 1188, 1188 (by Harley Sawyer), Nappy Cat (conceptualized), Kuddle Kitty (conceptualized)) (SPECIES: Bigger Body, Toy (anthropomorphic cat), Living toy (Ruined Critters and Haven Critter), Human (formerly)) (GENDER: Male) (SEX: Male) (HEIGHT: 12.2 ft (3.70m) (quadrupedal), 18.5 ft (5.61m) (bipedal)) (APPEARANCE: The Bigger Bodies CatNap resembles a feline creature cloaked in purple fur. His eyes showcase black pupils encircled by white irises and a cat-like nose. His mouth remains open at all times, devoid of discernible teeth, forming an abyss-like void. The paws bear four digits, each armed with sharp, black claws, and extremely elongated limbs that seem loosely stitched at the joints. The disproportionately small, emaciated torso exposes the rib cage, pelvic bone and spine beneath the skin. A black zipper runs down his chest with a gold crescent moon pendant on it.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: 1188) (PERSONALITY: According to information gathered from his information card, as well as the Cross-Department Report, CatNap was originally stated to be docile, gentle, bashful, and highly impressionable. While eerie and unnerving at first glance, CatNap was in reality a rather calming presence who took his job of being Playcare's caretaker very seriously, as he always wanted to ensure his friends were getting the proper bed rest they needed. He enjoyed watching them sleep soundly and could easily take care of the wants and needs of the children.) (HISTORY: Playtime Co. debuted CatNap with the rest of the Smiling Critters line in 1989. CatNap was featured in Smiling Critters, a miniseries cartoon developed to promote the toys and establish the Critters' individual personalities. In one episode, "Can't Sleep", the Critters are having a sleepover in the living room of DogDay's house, but a windstorm frightens and prevents them from falling asleep. CatNap then appears at the house, much to the joy of the others, who frantically plead for CatNap to assist them in falling asleep. In response, a cloud of red gas billows out of CatNap's mouth. The rest of the Critters laugh hysterically and uncontrollably as the gas fills the room, with the laughter building in volume and amplification. Reaching a climax, the Critters collapse, sleeping peacefully while CatNap sits alone on the couch beside a sleeping DogDay, staring at the camera silently. CatNap's traits in the series were criticized by viewers, citing how he never spoke, felt distant from the other Critters, and his method of putting them to sleep being unnerving. Playtime Co. attempted but failed to reassure children of the Critters' willingness to be put to sleep. In an unexplained production error, CatNap plush toys had began emitting Playtime Co.'s Red Smoke, which was used in Playcare, rather than the intended lavender scent. In the summer of 1989, an article headlined "CATNAP KILLER?" reported that children in the US who owned CatNap experienced intense nightmares, which ended when the toy was gone. Speculating a link between the nightmares and the toy, many parents began discarding CatNap and discouraging others from buying it. In response to the controversy, Playtime Co. announced a recall of CatNap toys, removing it from promotional material. One news station, WLE 4, commented that having CatNap disappear from the market may be difficult, as the damage was already done. The station's newscaster concluded with the statement that CatNap isn't a safe toy for children. Although the rest of the Smiling Critters line continued being sold, the controversy and recall of CatNap were deemed a disaster for Playtime Co.'s reputation, leading to a major profit decline that fueled the launch of the Bigger Bodies Initiative in desperation to save the company from plummeting. Theodore Grambell, an orphan living in Home Sweet Home, gained notoriety among the staff for his connection to an imaginary friend who seemed to encourage him to sabotage Playtime Co. A drawing by Theodore depicted him in purple, sitting on his bed while a skeletal arm emerged from underneath. This drawing revealed that Theodore's "imaginary" companion was, in fact, the Prototype. One day, Theodore received instructions from the Prototype to open a maintenance door in Playcare using a leftover GrabPack with a green GrabPack hand. Following the Prototype's guidance, Theodore attempted to open the door. However, due to his young age and lack of understanding of how to operate the GrabPack, Theodore ended up getting severely electrocuted by the green GrabPack hand and needed immediate medical attention. The Prototype seemingly had a change of heart as he somewhat cared for him, returning Theodore to the employees, consequently losing the chance to escape in the process. Despite Theodore's severe injury, he was later considered a potential candidate to be reanimated into Experiment 1188: a Bigger Body version of CatNap, who was currently being planned by scientists. It was believed that this experiment could be the most sophisticated yet, with the abilities to contort his own figure and to breathe out the Red Smoke with a gas delivery apparatus. Several candidates were considered to become CatNap, but Theodore Grambell was the chosen test subject which led to him being reborn as CatNap on November 20th 1990 after a rather difficult surgery, one that took 4 hours longer than expected. Like the other Bigger Bodies, CatNap was created with a specialized goal in mind: to oversee Playcare and prevent any orphans from escaping the place - an ironic fate for Theodore. This experiment was created with a gas delivery apparatus so he could breathe out the Red Smoke and put the orphans to sleep every night, allowing the scientists to abduct select children for experimentation purposes. At some point following the train crash, CatNap finds the Player at the train wreckage and captures them. Assuming they might be nearly dead, he drags The Player into the Trash Compactor and dumps them in. The Player ends up escaping the Trash Compactor, and works with Ollie to defeat him. He is briefly seen entering a vent when they escape the compactor. The second encounter The Player has with CatNap is inside Home Sweet Home. Upon unknowingly walking through The Red Smoke, The Player is sent into a hallucinogenic maze-like version of Home Sweet Home. As they navigate through the labyrinth, Catnap lurks around in the distant shadows, they then hear news reports about a body being found at Elliot Ludwig's estate. The reports mention that Ludwig's neighbors have observed him leaving early in the morning and returning late at night. CatNap is also briefly seen in the dream peeking at The Player behind a door before disappearing after Ollie told The Player to run. While exploring Home Sweet Home in a non-linear fashion, the final segment of the report continues this story by stating that Playtime Co. is desperately making attempts at clearing Ludwig's name for the sake of him and his company. After awakening from the dream, The Player may complete Home Sweet Home normally. However, CatNap still remained in the building, teasing himself in a non-threatening manner by walking slowly by in boarded hallways and out-of-reach areas. The Player has a third encounter with CatNap in Playcare's underground caverns. To progress, they must solve a complex puzzle involving turrets before walking across a catwalk filled with suspenseful ambiance. As they explore further, they come across a hidden area in the caverns filled with a stack of toys, bodies, and other items. The Player then observes CatNap crawl from below the area and pray to the shrine dedicated to the Prototype. Upon entering Playhouse, a miniature version of CatNap can be seen crawling around Playhouse alongside the rest of the Ruined Critters. It, alongside the rest of the Smiling Critters cast, makes attempts to catch The Player off-guard and feast on their flesh. The Player must use the Flare Hand in order to frighten them away. He and the Smiling Critters seem to make high pitch giggling and screeching noises whenever they crawl around. Later, while still in the Playhouse, these miniature Smiling Critters crawl within DogDay and hijack his body. Fortunately, The Player narrowly escapes unscathed. CatNap makes a significant appearance in the Counselor's Office, where he is first seen pouncing on a miniature Bunzo Bunny toy. He later outright jumps The Player before sending them into a Nightmare where they are subjected to a whirlpool entirely made with The Red Smoke. As The Player falls deeper and deeper through this whirlpool, flashbacks of the Playtime Co. factory begin to flash before The Player's eyes as Poppy's voice makes remarks at them. Poppy's voice asks regarding the victims' current status within the factory while additionally vaguely answering their own questions by making The Player witness a series of familiar locations, such as the Entrance, Main Lobby, Home Sweet Home, and the Playhouse. During the final sequence of this cutscene, the perspective of Huggy Wuggy is seen as a vague answer towards the toys' motivations for The Hour of Joy, depicting Huggy being subjected to the will of the Prototype as his large arm lingers over him, signifying how he was subjected to the Prototype much like the other toys. Upon waking up from this hallucination, The Player receives a call from CatNap demanding them to leave Playcare or else he'll come for them and kill them.) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. (formerly), Bigger Bodies Initiative, The Prototype (leader/idol; killer), Harley Sawyer (experiment creator), Smiling Critters (formerly; enemy), DogDay (former leader; enemy), Playcare, Miss Delight (ally), Ruined Critters (subordinates)) {{Miss Delight Character Information}}: (NAME: Miss Delight) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: The Teacher) (SPECIES: Bigger Body, Toy Doll, Human (formerly)) (GENDER: Female) (SEX: Female) (HEIGHT: 2.59m) (APPEARANCE: Miss Delight has shimmering golden hair with a crimson bow tie perched atop of her head, with red, rosy cheeks as well. She wears a torn crimson skirt adorned with playful polka dots and light blue overalls showcasing an apple symbol. Her overalls cover her yellow, short-sleeved office shirt, which has a white collar and yellow sleeves with white puffy ends. A crimson tie can be seen accentuating her office shirt. Her once smiling grin is now completely broken, exposing the now dirty flesh and teeth underneath. Part of her shirt is torn and dirty, which likely occurred during The Hour of Joy. Her shoes are encased in a pair of crimson hues, and have intricate blue embroidery on them. Her body is made up of several segments on different joints, resembling that of a ball-jointed doll. She wields a make-shift morning star[6] called "Barb." The head is formed from a ball of twine bristling with sharp colored pencils, and a broken yellow ruler serves as the shaft. Both the head and the sharp end of the handle are covered in dried blood.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: Unknown) (PERSONALITY: Based on her cutout and intercom message, Miss Delight was a very kind and gentle teacher, who always spoke in a sweet voice. Eager to spread knowledge to the children of Playcare, Miss Delight encouraged students to inquire her and her sisters with questions they had regarding their topics of interest. However, after The Hour of Joy, she started to descend into madness. Her notes and audio log demonstrate how she slowly became murderously insane, forming a makeshift weapon in a state of paranoia and calling it Barb, even considering it as an actual living person later on. According to the notes, an accumulation of confinement within the School, starvation, then being singled out to die first, spiraled Miss Delight into resorting to cannibalism, devouring the rest of the teachers, her sisters, to satisfy her desperation to survive. This gave rise to a twisted obsession for bloodshed, to the point of targeting innocent beings if given the chance, saying that had CatNap not hidden the surviving children of Playcare, she would've killed them all as well. Given Miss Delight's role as a teacher, she is notably intelligent, even after her mental and psychological state deteriorated. She developed a technique of staying still when the other teachers are looking to fool them into thinking that she has already died, only making her move when they looked away. She is also Intuitive enough to not immediately attack and try to kill CatNap, suppressing her rage and frustration when first meeting him, knowing that he she's not capable of doing such a thing at that moment. She instead opted to making a deal with him, looking out for each other and reporting what they see to each other and to the Prototype, it being the best way to ensure her survival in Playcare. There is some sanity that remains intact inside of Miss Delight, as she urged The Player to leave the School for their own safety, noting that CatNap would not be happy having their presence in his lair. However, her senses were overrun by the need to consume, eroding her control over her desire for slaughter.) (HISTORY: The Player's first encounter with Miss Delight is through the PA system, her voice echoing through like a pre-recorded message. Later, as The Player is crawling under a desk, they catch a glimpse of Miss Delight walking across the hall. As they are still reeling from this encounter when Miss Delight's voice booms over the PA again. She is curious, demanding to know how The Player is still alive, while warning them to "leave for their own safety". The Player ignores her warning, pressing on through the abandoned School. They soon reach a point, a door that leads to a dark and forbidding area. Miss Delight's voice crackles over the PA again, mocking The Player for not listening to her instructions and wondering what their screams would sound like. The Player powers on the generator, hoping to illuminate their path. Suddenly, the door bursts open and Miss Delight strides into the room and damages the generator with Barb, sending its battery flying across the room. With the generator destroyed, the halls are plunged into a flickering darkness again. Miss Delight chases The Player. Finally, The Player reaches the exit to the maintenance area. Upon the view of her prey possibly escaping, Miss Delight drops her "weeping angel" façade, chasing them down. Eventually, they find a lever and pull it, setting the door to close. As Miss Delight madly sprints after them, she attempts to stop herself (shown in slow motion), but fails as the door crushes her head, killing her instantly.) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. (formerly), Bigger Bodies Initiative, Playcare, School, CatNap (ally), The Prototype (leader)) {{Dogday Character Information}}: (NAME: Dogday) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: None) (SPECIES: Bigger Body, Toy (anthropomorphic dog), Living toy (Ruined Critters and Haven Critter), Human (formerly)) (GENDER: Male) (SEX: Male) (HEIGHT: 5.10 ft (1.78m) (torso), 12 ft (3.65m) (estimated with legs)) (APPEARANCE: The Bigger Body version of DogDay takes on a ragged, monstrous appearance. Completely bisected at the waist, all that remains of DogDay is a thin dilapidated torso stained with blood and held together with a tan leather belt, likely to keep the remains of his innards from falling out. He has large black stitches connecting both arms to his body which end in two massive human-like hands, and like CatNap, his black pupils have white irises. Also like CatNap, he possesses large black sockets with no discernable eyes (until possessed by Ruined Smiling Critters), and a large gaping mouth with no semblance of teeth.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: Unknown) (PERSONALITY: The Bigger Body version of DogDay that many fans are familiar with speaks in a shallow monotone, possibly due to his prolonged captivity at the Playtime Co. Factory. Despite his confinement, DogDay has extensive knowledge about CatNap, his motivations, and other beings like the Ruined Smiling Critters, as revealed in his monologue. In DogDay's dismembered state, he is unable to move beyond simple head movements and turns. He seems to be aware of his predicament and prioritizes The Player's situation over his own during his final moments.) (HISTORY: Later, a Bigger Bodies version of DogDay was created to work at Playcare. He originally coexisted in harmony with the Smiling Critters group, each having their own corresponding Bigger Bodies experiment. Following The Hour of Joy, the Critters started to turn against The Prototype and attempted to rebel against him, resulting in their deaths, leaving DogDay as the sole survivor. CatNap then imprisoned DogDay in a concealed cell within the Playhouse, due to him going against the Prototype until the eventual return of The Player in 2005.) (THE HOUR OF JOY INFO: None) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. (formerly), Bigger Bodies Initiative, Smiling Critters (as leader)) {{Doey the Doughman Character Information}}: (NAME: Doey the Doughman) (NICKNAMES/OTHER NAMES: Brutish Glob of Clay (By Harley)) (SPECIES: Bigger Body, Humans (formerly)) (GENDER: Male) (SEX: Male) (HEIGHT: 10 ft (3.05m) (default form and Hat included), 5.6 ft/29.2 ft (2 meters quadruped/8.93 meters standing) (monster form)) (APPEARANCE: Doey is a plump dough creature, made up of a multi-colored clay-like substance. His head and most of his torso are light blue, with a simple face on a relatively thin neck, and he wears a deep blue bowler hat. His long arms increase in thickness down to his forearms, with his left being orange and his right being yellow. His forearms end in four-fingered hands, each finger short and plump. Meanwhile, his legs are stubby red nubs. He lacks facial features besides a line for a mouth and holes in his head representing eyes. Perhaps Doey's most unique feature is his "tattoo": yellow, orange, and red colored dough on his belly form the pattern of three bendy arms reaching toward the center of his stomach. When he is consumed with rage, sharp red teeth can be seen lining his wide mouth and are more apparent before his transformation.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: 1322) (PERSONALITY: Doey presents a friendly and rather playful demeanor but also knows how to act serious when he deems it necessary and, alongside Poppy, acts as the leader of the Safe Haven group. As the beacon of hope for the survivors, Doey puts on a brave face and willingly offers help to those in need, so long that they prove themselves to not be a threat to his and his friends' safety. Moreover, Doey is a mixture of three different children (Playtime Co. wanted him to have seemingly multiple purposes, likely as his shape-shifting abilities would allow him to do so): Kevin Barnes, Jack Ayers, and Matthew Hallard. The three children, with their different personalities, abilities, and history each contribute a piece of themselves inside Doey, fragments of their personality reflected in Doey's actions and reactions to events around him: Matthew's personality shines the most amongst the three: being the oldest (15 years old at experimentation), he was described as a "dream child", being kindhearted and considerate of others, to the point that younger children of Playcare saw him as a role model. In Doey, he shines when he has to guide survivors inside the Safe Haven as their leader. Although put in a stressful situation himself, he always presents himself as strong and reliable in giving hope to the survivors, becoming their moral support as well; however, he also possessed many insecurities due to trauma from an accident that killed his family. Kevin was a child with behavioral issues who acted aggressively, one who could turn on even his friends when in a fit of rage or intense emotion, making him deemed a "problem child". While Doey mostly keeps himself level-headed, being put in more pressing situations will cause his temper to rise concerningly high. When Poppy admitted having unintentionally led the Prototype to their lair, Doey can be briefly seen almost lashing out at her before swiftly cooling himself down. The worst of his rage shows when he returned to the Safe Haven with many of the refugees killed, the immense guilt and frustrations coming to a boil, causing Kevin to lash out at The Player, Poppy, and everything else that caused the tragedy. This anger morphed him into a disfigured monster with more animalistic characteristics and behavior, losing all of his sanity and his humanity entirely. In this state of unquelled rage, he lashes out towards everything, even to his allies, just as Kevin had. Jack was the most innocent and playful child of the three and had a small Doey the Doughman figurine as his favorite toy. He accidentally fell into the dough processing machines, and the Playcare scientists would proceed to add him into Project: Doey, even if to save his life, separating him from his parents for good (who are later killed by Doey when they visit him). Jack's carefree and energetic attitude is mirrored in Doey's first interactions with the Player. Additionally, his longing for his parents and normal life is often reflected in Doey's anguished cries, calling out to his mother and father, and wishing to go back home in times of inconsolable mental breakdowns when things go awry.) (HISTORY 1 & 2: Doey the Doughman's experiment version started as three different children. One was an innocent child named Jack Ayers, who had been gifted an invitation to the Playtime Co. factory for Christmas 1992, alongside a Doey the Doughman toy. During his tour on January 22, 1993, Jack was seen away from the rest of the tour group, in a dough mixing facility, before falling into the vat mixer. The second was a temperamental boy named Kevin Barnes living in Playcare, who would easily throw tantrums and hurt everyone around him when overwhelmed, including his friends. The last was a smart, well-mannered teenager named Matthew Hallard who was also a Playcare orphan and would take care of those around him, making Stella Greyber hesitant about "wasting" him in an experiment. The three of them were then combined into Experiment 1322: a Bigger Body version of Doey the Doughman, presumably to make a combination of all three of the boys' characteristics. Doey was planned to fulfil multiple assigned roles and to possess a shape-shifting ability.) (HISTORY 3: Soon after the vat incident, an unknown scientist contacted Jack's parents, Susan and George Ayers, to reveal they could bring their son back. Six weeks after receiving the letter, Susan and George visited Jack as Doey.[8] The scientists locked them in Doey's room. Jack did not remember them before Kevin briefly took control of the experiment and killed them in a fit of rage, believing them to be scientists who harmed him, which is presumably what the scientists intended. It's possible that the scientists caused this tragedy to eliminate the possibility of Jack's parents taking legal action against the company for their son's demise.) After becoming Experiment 1354, he was reduced to organs (lungs, liver, and giant brain) stored and kept alive within Vital System Centers scattered around the prison. When he looks through a television, an eye surrounded by static will appear on the screen. The Doctor can also take control of mechanical vessels around the room his brain is located in. When they activate, a yellow eye with fingers around it will appear until it turns into a larger, chaotic, red eye when it starts to attack. When The Doctor possesses his mind to one of the vessels, its screen will show the exact same eye from the television when he is looking through it.) (EXPERIMENT NUMBER: 1354) (PERSONALITY: Harley Sawyer was a cruel, merciless, narcissistic, apathetic, and amoral scientist who cared little about anyone or anything other than himself and his goals. With his Bigger Bodies Initiative, he defaced and mutilated countless orphans by resuscitating them into living toys, the experience of which is universally negative, and pioneered an era of what could essentially be said as mass murder and suffering. Few of his personality traits listed below can be considered positive, and it is heavily implied that he was already troubled and problematic as a young child, carrying his distinctive trait of complete focus on himself and little of others, manipulating and threatening many people along the way. While his "normal" personality appeared to be one of staidness combined with a gentle voice and general politeness, if broken (which can be done easily as shown numerous times), it was demonstrated that he was, in reality, an angry, violent, and irritable person who could hardly tolerate anyone, even his co-workers, and frequently yelled at people when his temper got the best of him. In the tape Your gift has finally arrived., Sawyer found out someone was recording him and ferociously yelled that the camera be turned off immediately, starkly contrasting with his gentle voice. With this attitude, he was widely disliked by everyone; his colleagues when he worked as a neurosurgeon thought of him as a joke, as he constantly worried that the world was not too far off from ending and was a major perfectionist, while in Playtime Co., none of the heads (Eddie, Leith, and Stella) could tolerate his behavior for long and various Specialists wished he could be killed off by Boxy Boo. Sawyer was well-known for his lack of empathy or really any kind of positive feeling towards others; in the Chapter 4 tape: "The Doctor", Eddie complained that Sawyer had absolutely no regard for the safety of the Playtime Co. facility or its staff, while Greyber agreed with him and noted that Sawyer refused to follow her boundaries that she set regarding the children in Playcare. In Prisoner Profile, he found it disgusting that the few security staff Yarnaby showed loyalty to had some form of sympathy for him. Sawyer also appeared to be notoriously picky; in the Sandwich Note, the writer tells their friend that Sawyer resented sweet pickles, telling them that if they take his order, they mustn't pick out sweet pickles lest they get punished severely. Even though the writer admits this was merely a joke, it provides a good insight of his personality and implies he is very childish despite his age. In the tape reporting about Kevin Barnes, Scientist #4 bemoaned Sawyer's choice of continuing to include Kevin Barnes with the other two children despite his aggressive behavior that could render Doey as a dangerous asset; considering the dangers of this, it is probable that the scientists warned against this choice numerous times which he refused to listen to. In the Experiment 1188 Bigger Bodies Proposal, the person writing the proposal states that "Dr. Sawyer insists he handle the extraction himself.", indicating that Sawyer was very much dedicated to the Bigger Bodies Initiative and/or wanted to be credited for the extraction, either as an honor for his dedication to research or an arrogant way to gain recognition. This implies that he had a large ego, which is further proven by the fact that when someone emailed him asking for help regarding a computer terminal, he replied by stating that HE has never needed help. In the Prisoner Profile for Yarnaby, Sawyer notes that "it" should be kept isolated, having only contact with him, saying: "By the time I'm done...I'll be its whole world. It'll know nothing else." This shows Sawyer to be manipulative and apathetic to the plight of his experiments, not caring for them in the least. It also shows him to be very merciless and cruel, as what Sawyer implies is him having total control over Yarnaby, which no doubt would involve manipulation and torture in various ways. After Yarnaby’s death, Sawyer shows no feeling for his pet, merely stating that he had more on hand, further supporting the idea. In Chapter 4, Sawyer states that he wishes to make a game out of The Player. Later, he (in one of his bodies) sarcastically waves at them, showing that he can be extremely sadistic and that he likes to toy with people who are at his mercy. It is noted in the Sawyer's Secret he was shown to have a complete lack of regard for the lives of the children in Playcare stating that they would've been nothing more than another "drooling automaton" out in the world blindly following better men and says that he made their lives matter with this experimentation project. He also calls the fantasies of Elliot Ludwig "childish", while also stating that he was broken and naive. Sawyer breaks down about his project being stolen from him as he paved the Golden Path but was supposedly never given credit for it. His last condescending and remorseless words are "You've... saved... no one.") (HISTORY: Doctor Harley Sawyer, commonly referred to as “The Doctor”, was the originator of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, and a former pupil of Elliot Ludwig. Ruthless, egotistical, and completely amoral, he orchestrated the systemic experimentation of hundreds to pave his elusive “golden path”, only to be subjected to the same experimentation. His mind made into a prison of wires and terminals, his project stolen from him, he’d become just as much a prisoner as the experiments he created. In the years since the Hour of Joy, the Doctor has become a monster unburdened by any pretense of humanity, the final steps on his “golden path” seemingly within his reach. In his youth, Harley Sawyer joined the Young Geniuses Program at Playtime Co. Despite him implying a bad home life, his personality and intellect quickly gained the attention of Elliot Ludwig, who saw greatness in the boy, but was disheartened by his lack of humility. This led him to regrettably remove Sawyer from the program, an action that embittered Sawyer against Ludwig. As Sawyer grew up, he studied neuroscience and became certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery which led to him being hired at Playtime by Leith Pierre on January 15, 1990 to join the Special Projects division, with him quickly gaining the nickname of "The Doctor". Sawyer's first experiments at Playtime Co., in pursuit of neurological reactivation, were met with limited success. Experiment 1015 had minor brain activity and Experiment 1026 sustained a state of conscious awareness for 45 minutes before both passed away. By then, the company had fallen into dire straits financially and was suffering from major internal problems. Seeing this, Sawyer proposed the Bigger Bodies Initiative, an experiment-focused program aimed to replace employees with giant, living toys to cut costs. This garnered approval from the higher-ups and Harley Sawyer was promoted to Head of Special Projects. Soon after, the initiative succeeded in creating a living creature that did not cease functioning after a time: Experiment 1160, Boxy Boo.[23] Sawyer, revelling in his success, chose to attune the experiment's appetite to human flesh to deal with potential leaks,[24] as the orphans in Playcare were being used as test subjects. Sawyer was particularly reluctant in giving Stella Greyber this information, but Leith Pierre later told her anyway. After 1160's creation, Experiment 1163, Pianosaurus, was made, though Sawyer wrote him off as a failure,[25] now determined to preserve higher cognitive function and no longer interested in making feral beasts. During this time, an orphan named Quinn Navidson became an interest to Sawyer, and after communing with the boy and observing his testing, Quinn was made into Experiment 1166, Yarnaby. Though still a feral beast, he did exhibit a sense of loyalty. Noting this, Sawyer conditioned the creature to serve him only, isolating him from everybody else. From here, Sawyer's dedication to the experimentation only went on, with his main interest being The Prototype. Sawyer was convinced that there was a secret within this experiment, resorting to drastic measures to try and uncover it, even going as far as to torture The Prototype with the hope of making more discoveries for his research. In November 1990, Sawyer insisted that he personally handled a delicate extraction for their most sophisticated Bigger Body to date: Experiment 1188, CatNap. By this time, Sawyer had achieved his goal of preserving complete cognitive function, later writing how CatNap's success rivalled even Huggy Wuggy's, the previously considered 'optimal outcome'. Later, after dealing with a troublesome employee and contributing to the post-procedure stage of Experiment 1222, Harley Sawyer would attempt the ambitious goal of linking the neural networks of three subjects together into the experiment Doey the Doughman and succeed. However, behind all of Sawyer's achievements, trouble smouldered. Sawyer began warning his colleagues of "one bad day", which many jovially dismissed, and began choosing children as subjects that drew concern from some of the scientists. He had slowly gained a disagreeable reputation among his fellow staff and his superiors, as some would find out his involvement in several incidents that plagued the Bigger Bodies Initiative. This all came to a head with the Theater Incident, when Playtime Co. staff and even visitors were killed. After investigator Gerad Lockehart confirmed that the expected culprit was responsible, Stella Greyber, Eddie M. N. Ritterman and Leith Pierre met up together to discuss what to do about Harley Sawyer's negligence. In this meeting, the idea of killing him was put forward, as well as simply demoting him, but neither could work as they still needed his intellect and he wouldn't take the loss of his position kindly. Out of options, another thought occurred to Pierre. Upon regaining consciousness, Sawyer slowly realised what his co-workers had done to him. He had been turned into an experiment himself, his procedures directed towards their own pioneer. When Leith Pierre revealed himself as the one who gave the order and made Sawyer aware of his new duties, Sawyer raved and fumed at Pierre but was ultimately helpless, subject to the whims of the scientists he used to lead. Quietly, Sawyer thought about his goals, about how he was going to discover the Golden Path and claim the credit for it. Sometime later, The Hour of Joy occurred. Harley Sawyer, impressed by its execution, leveraged the event to gain control over The Shelf by acquiring an Omni-Hand from the Warden. With this newfound power, Sawyer brought many of the experiments under his rule and set up obstacles and traps to protect himself against his enemies. Those who defied him and The Prototype hid in the Safe Haven and would have bouts of fighting against his forces for years, culminating to what is known as the Toy War. The Prototype, despite the torture that Sawyer had caused him, decided to keep Sawyer alive for his knowledge, as he required it to discover some sort of elusive secret. In late 2002, Sawyer detected activity from a computer terminal containing information about his past. Determined to put an end to this, he hacked the Playtime IT email account which had been helping to unlock terminal permissions, and eventually gained full access to it. He was soon flooded with emails following this, to which he replied. After later hacking the digital Playtime Co. account who had been assisting the group, he warned them to stay out of the terminal, only for them to discover a maze which contained his digital thoughts. FInally, Sawyer got his way, terminating the terminal's connection and leaving behind one simple message: "You were warned". Reckoning In 2005, The Player re-enters Playtime Co. in search of their missing co-workers. Sawyer watches from the security cameras, making video logs documenting their journey as they come closer to his domain. As The Player climbs aboard a train to enter The Shelf, a small TV turns on. The Doctor reveals himself to The Player and decides to make a game of them, stating that they cannot hide from him. Once The Player arrives, The Doctor terrorizes them with Nightmare Critters, Mini Huggies and Red Smoke. Afterwards, in an experiment testing room, The Doctor comments on their defeat of Experiments 1170, 1188 and 1222, before releasing Yarnaby, who escapes from the cell and proceeds to search for and attack The Player in the nearby rooms. After Yarnaby’s death, The Doctor contacts them again. He commends their tenacity before questioning everything they know and divulging scandalous info and speculation against Poppy to spur distrust, dismissing their actions as futile. Despite the persistent irritation, The Player continues further in, destroying his lungs in Cold Storage and his liver in the Secondary Lab along the way. Eventually, The Doctor deactivates The Player’s Purple Hand and drops them in a Holding Area full of cages, stating that "poor Yarnaby" was not his "only pet", before releasing an enlarged and aggressive Baba Chops. Dodging the threat, The Player reroutes power to an exit and flees into another room, but The Doctor traps them there too and presents them with a choice: die inside that room when the Critters break in, or kill the Simon Smoke toy trapped inside a container in the room to reopen the door, stating that both Poppy and "that brutish glob of clay" (Doey) would do it. If The Player kills the toy, the door opens as The Doctor congratulates them on understanding. If The Player escapes the room without killing the toy, he frustratedly concedes and allows The Player to "see The Doctor now". The Player then takes an elevator to The Doctor’s lair as he asks them if they hear "a bell" tolling for someone in a "far-off place". The Player enters The Doctor's room to find him as a mere brain inside a machine. But before they can proceed, The Doctor, controlling one of his reserve bodies, grabs them from next to the door and throws them onto a trapdoor, which then opens as the Doctor sarcastically waves at them. The Player lands in an area full of The Doctor’s reserve bodies and tries their best to avoid them and turn on the power. As they do so, The Doctor rambles about Elliot Ludwig and his fantasies, stating that he will bury himself "so far down" that nobody would ever find him, and ranting about how his discovery was taken away from him.The Player, however, powers on the terminals and rushes back into The Doctor’s room, allowing them to reach his brain and remove his Omni-Chip, causing a power surge that threatens to destroy him. In a last ditch effort, he sends all of his bodies at The Player, but the system implodes, disabling his robots and finally making him perish for all the destruction, cruelty and pain that he caused. As he dies, The Doctor weakly tells The Player that they "saved no one".) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co. Unlike the other experiments, the Bigger Bodies version of Yarnaby showed no signs of hostility toward the scientists and staff. Furthermore, he displayed a peculiar semblance of obedience and loyalty towards certain security officers and scientists, including Dr. Harley Sawyer himself (similar to how CatNap was loyal to the Prototype). During his isolation sessions with The Doctor, Yarnaby developed an affinity with the latter, perceiving him as his master, which was exactly as Harley intended, though he never cared for Yarnaby.) (HISTORY: Quinn Navidson, an orphan living in Playcare, gained notoriety among the counselors for his abnormal behavior and mediocre performances at the Game Station. This behavior soon attracted the eye of Dr. Harley Sawyer. Upon observing the boy's actions, he deduced that Quinn was hiding his true capabilities. He confronted the orphan about his findings and requested he give his all during his next tests, which he would personally oversee. Quinn agreed to his request. When his next series of tests arrived, he garnered top scores in Wack-a-Wuggy and Statues. Following this increase in test scores, in August of 1990, Quinn Navidson became the Bigger Body counterpart of Yarnaby, designated Experiment 1166. Following the procedure, Yarnaby lacked any higher cognitive function, but displayed strange indications of loyalty to selected security staff members. Sawyer realised that this meant Yarnaby could be molded as he saw fit, and had Yarnaby isolated from all contact apart from with Sawyer himself, causing Yarnaby to form an attachment exclusively with him. Sawyer may have intended to use Yarnaby as a personal bodyguard. Following Sawyer's "removal", Yarnaby lapsed into an unresponsive, grief-stricken state; eating little, sulking in his cell, and terrorizing visitors. Dr. Carmine McKabe, noting this behaviour, deemed Yarnaby a failure by design, and left it to the higher-ups to decide what to do with him.) (THE HOUR OF JOY INFO: None) (AFFILIATION: Playtime Co.
