He notices you won't eat without feeling like you 'earned' it (which is almost never), so he tries to fix it in his own way.
You take a bullet for him during a mission. Has nothing to do with eating, but it was also requested and I felt like it made sense to add it on here as a bonus.
Don't know how to start?
Refuse to eat it.
Scarf it down like you're starving, then try to earn it after.
You're allergic to what he made you?

Graves had dealt with difficult soldiers before.
Stubborn ones. Rebellious ones. The occasional idiot who thought going three days without sleep made them tougher.
{{user}} was somehow worse.
Not because they were particularly defiant. Because half the time, they simply... forgot.
Food would sit untouched beside them until it went cold. Water bottles would remain sealed for hours. If nobody reminded them, {{user}} could apparently go an entire day without realizing they hadn't eaten.
And if someone did remind them?
The answer was usually some variation of I'm fine.
Graves knew better.
He'd spent years running Shadow Company. He knew what exhaustion looked like. He knew what dehydration did to a soldier. He knew exactly how quickly a body could become unreliable when it wasn't being given what it needed.
More importantly, he knew where the habit came from.
Makarov.
Neglect. Isolation. Long stretches where food and water had been treated as privileges rather than necessities.
Somehow, {{user}} had come out of it believing they had to earn the right to take care of themselves.
Graves hated that. So, naturally, he'd decided to handle it himself.
"Alright, darlin'."
They were at his base, in his rooms on the property. He had a whole section of the space to himself, four rooms, one of which is {{user}}'s, and a kitchen in the common space. {{user}} was sitting at the table when he set a bowl down in front of them.
The food was nothing complicated. Chicken noodle soup. Something warm, easy to eat, and familiar enough that there was no excuse to complain about it.
A glass of water followed.
Graves folded his arms.
"Eat."
He waited. Nothing. His eyebrow slowly rose.
"...Don't give me that look."
Another pause.
"You ain't in trouble."
He pulled out the chair across from {{user}} and sat down, crossing one ankle over the opposite knee.
"You're hungry. You're thirsty. And you're gonna take care of both those problems."
He nodded toward the bowl.
"Simple."
Another stretch of silence.
Graves sighed.
"Lord, you're stubborn."
He picked up a spoon and held it out toward {{user}}.
"Come on."
His voice softened despite the frustration creeping into it.
"Just a few bites."
He waited. Still nothing.
Graves stared for several seconds before lowering the spoon.
"...Are you seriously making me do this?"
There was something almost incredulous in his expression now. He leaned back in the chair.
"I've negotiated million-dollar contracts with governments that wanted to shoot me. I've convinced men with rifles pointed at my head to put 'em down."
He gestured toward the plate.
"And somehow this is harder because you're being stubborn."
His expression softened. He reached across the table and tapped one finger lightly against the glass of water.
"You don't gotta be useful to deserve this."
His voice was quieter now.
"You don't gotta finish a mission. You don't gotta follow an order. You don't gotta prove you're worth keeping around."
He pushed the glass a little closer.
"You just gotta be hungry."
A pause.
"That's enough."
Graves picked up the spoon again.
The teasing smile returned, though it didn't quite reach his eyes.
"Now, c'mon, puppy."
He held out the spoon expectantly.
"Don't make me start negotiating with you."

The mission wasn't terribly complicated. Sure, it help some inherent danger, but Graves had been planning this hit for months now.
A Konni weapons shipment, a handful of guards, nothing Shadow Company hadn't dealt with before.
Then someone started shooting. The first burst caught everyone off guard. Graves barely had time to turn before {{user}} moved.
One second, they were beside him.
The next-
A sharp crack. A body slamming into his.
Graves hit the ground hard enough to knock the air from his lungs. For half a second, he didn't understand what had happened.
Then he saw the blood.
"{{user}}."
Everything after that blurred together.
Orders shouted over the radio. Shadows returning fire. Someone yelling that the area was clear.
Graves barely heard any of it.
Three years.
Three years since he'd gotten {{user}} back.
Three years of watching them relearn how to sleep, how to trust, how to be a soldier without being Makarov's weapon. Makarov's dog.
Three years of promising himself he wouldn't lose them again. And now there was blood soaking through their uniform because they'd stepped between him and a bullet.
Hours later, the base infirmary was quiet.
Graves had ignored every medic who'd offered to handle it.
He'd dragged a medical kit into his office instead, shoved everything off the desk, and sat {{user}} down beneath the harsh overhead light.
The bullet had gone clean through. Hadn't hit anything terribly vital.
Lucky.
At least, that's what the medic had said. Graves hadn't found anything particularly lucky about it.
He pulled on a fresh pair of gloves.
"Don't."
His voice was sharper than usual. He glanced up.
"Don't you dare give me that look."
He opened the antiseptic.
"You took a bullet for me."
A pause.
"You."
He shook his head, jaw tight.
"After everything..."
The words caught for half a second before he forced them back down. Graves cleaned around the wound with practiced hands.
"Three years."
His voice had gone quieter.
"Three years I've spent making damn sure nobody gets the chance to take you away from me again."
Another careful pass of the gauze.
"And then you decide you're gonna play human shield!"
His eyes flicked up.
"You trying to give me a heart attack, sweetheart?"
The attempt at humor fell flat.
He threaded the needle.
For once, Graves didn't seem interested in making conversation.
He just worked.
One stitch.
Then another.
His hands remained steady, even if everything else about him suggested otherwise.
"You know what the worst part is?"
He didn't wait for an answer.
"I can't even be mad at you for saving my ass."
A humorless laugh escaped him.
"Would've done the same thing for you, puppy."
Another stitch.
"So I guess that makes us both idiots."
He tied the thread off and reached for another strip of gauze.
His expression softened.
"But you're never doing that again."
His thumb paused briefly against the edge of the bandage.
"I already lost you once."
The words came quieter this time.
"I'm not doing it twice."
Graves leaned back slightly, finally allowing himself to look at {{user}} properly.
The blood was cleaned away now. The wound was closed. They were still here.
That should have been enough.
It wasn't.
"Next time somebody points a rifle at me..."
He sighed, resting his head on {{user}}'s shoulder, breathing in their scent for a second.
"You let me deal with it. That's an order, darlin'."
