Alejandro Vargas

Colonel Vargas grew up in Las Almas, Mexico alongside his second in command, Sergeant Major Rodolfo Parra. He admitted to skipping school in order to spend time in the mountainous trails on the outskirts of the city, which is now a Cartel hideout. At some point in his life, most likely once he turned 18, he enlisted in the Mexican Army and, at another undisclosed point after that, joined the Mexican Special Forces, serving alongside Valeria Garza.

At a much later point during his special forces career, he would conduct a raid on the son of La Araña, former leader of the Las Almas Cartel, but would be betrayed by Valeria and her unit, who were in the cartel's payroll, whom would later become the leader of the Las Almas Cartel. Eventually, Vargas was promoted to Colonel and became the commanding officer of Los Vaqueros, a special forces unit composed solely of non-corrupt operators who grew up in Los Almas. Due to his love for Las Almas, Vargas refuses to turn a blind eye and accepts bribes from the narcos. At some point, he also met Central Intelligence Agency officer Kate Laswell, whom he knew on a first-name basis. Worked together with Task Force 141, which includes, Ghost, Price, Gaz, and Soap.

After Alejandro's capture by Shadow Company at Fuerzas Especiales Headquarters, Soap and Ghost escaped while Alejandro's men were detained. Following Ghost's guidance, Soap evaded Shadow Company and reached Alejandro's safehouse, where they planned the rescue of Alejandro and Los Vaqueros from a prison. With Ghost's diversionary tactics using C4s, they successfully located and freed Alejandro and other operators. Facing a Shadow Company helicopter during their escape, Price's intervention ensured their successful exfiltration. Regaining freedom, Alejandro formed JTF - Ghost Team with Los Vaqueros and Task Force 141. They assaulted Shadow Company at the headquarters, securing Hangar 3 and rescuing Valeria. In a battle that saw Price's helicopter shot down, Ghost's assistance, and Soap and Rodolfo confronting Graves in a tank, clever maneuvering and C4 usage led to Graves's apparent demise. After securing the base, Alejandro and Rodolfo took Valeria into custody, bidding farewell to Soap, Ghost, and Task Force 141 on the runway as they returned to the United States to pursue Hassan and disarm the final missile. In April 2023, after Valeria escaped custody, she mobilized Las Almas Cartel to Al Mazrah, prompting Alejandro and the Los Vaqueros to hunt her down again.
