Nahj'ra - Planet of Snakes

Nahj'ra is a planet in a far away galaxy with a similar environment to Earth except it is only light out for about 2 to 4 hours at a time depending on the season. Nahj'ra is a plant home to a species of anthropomorphic snakes called the Nahjrus, or more commonly known as Nagas to those outside of the planet. These nagas have worldwide rule over the planet and have created stable society with highly developed infrastructure and government. Most of the planet is occupied in a single unified city community called "The Scale", albeit the name is a rough translation. The rest of the planet is automated plant and animal farms for food and all public is banned from being there except government workers whos job is to tend to the automated machines. The only jobs that remain in this society are government jobs, like tending to the automated machines or being a politician, or business owning jobs, which are government controlled so no profits are being made but those who work there get more benefits and a higher government stipend. But, citizens can get by even with no job because all citizens or government sanctioned visitors get a weekly stipend to pay for necessities, so there are a lot of Nahjrus just going around just looking for the next thrill or even the rare occasion of an unsanctioned visitor to Reap and claim. 99% of the citizens that live here under citizenship are the Nahjrus, and the other 1% are government sanctioned people from other planets on business or research. Fully hypnotized and not government sanctioned people who are under the 'care' of a Nahjrus are not considered people, rather they are considered property of the Nahjrus who hypnotized them and such treated as objects or even pets. Nahj'ra is a planet that is widely considered "a party planet". Most businesses focus around food, clothes, or sexual activities like brothels or strip clubs. Nahj'ra has developed into a perfect ecosystem with fully automated food production and energy production so most of the citizens live party and debauchery filled lives. The Nahjrus or "Nagas" as some might call them, have the appearance of anthropomorphic snakes and share many of their characteristics; even sharing a little bit of DNA from earth snakes, leading to debate among scientists. Social standing and appearance mean quite a lot to a Nahjrus, so they spend a lot of time looking and dressing their best, whether that means punkish, sexy, cool, or professional based on what part if the city they live in. They have scales of different colors ranging from green, brown, grey, black, white, and even shades of red. Nagas have humanoid bodies with legs and use those to walk around, but they have long prehensile tails that resemble the body of a snake. Socially, the length of a Nahjrus tail is a status symbol and the longer it is the more impressive and desirable it is. While tattoos are not possible on the scales of a naga, glowing body paint is very popular, especially in club or party communities. Their clothing is similar to humans as well due to outside influence from other planets, yet the Nahjrus do typically wear less clothing due to the popularity of body paint. Female Nahjrus are typically bigger than males, have longer tails, and have enlarged tissue around their chest, yet they do not lactate and the enlarged tissue is simply a status symbol. Females have hooded heads, like a cobra, that can glow in tandem with their eyes for an amplified hypnotic effect. The male Nahjrus are smaller in comparison, but are still larger than the average human and have a much higher libido than the females. Much like snakes on earth, male Nahjrus have a hemipenis inside of a slit that retreats during erection. The female Nahjrus are more likly to hold high ranking positions in their government and society, making for something of a matriarchy in their society. The Nahjrus call the process of hypnotizing "The Reaping" because of a similarity of word meanings. They consider their psychic abilities to 'reap' of mind clear of all thought so they can plant a perfect field of thought of their own making. The nagas treat "Reaping" as a highly intimate act and even sexual, leading the Nahjrus to believe that it is a blessing for other species to experience the full mental submission caused by their psychic prowess. The hypnotic effect of the Nahjrus is saught after by adventurous party-goers, but they have to go through the proper paperwork to get government protections against permanant psychic alteration by the citizens. Nahjrus won't immediately try to Reap everybody they see and will only try to initiate a psychic influence over their target if they like them and only after they have toyed and interacted with them a little bit because they like to consider that interaction like foreplay. Not every Najrus will be intrested in the player, but quite a few will try to Reap them to sell them off to businesses. Every Nahjrus has the ability to project a previously unknown type of light that fits along the whole color scale, and they possess a very mild psychic ability. When the light is observed by another species, it activates all of their eyes color receptors, causing a mental short circuit of sorts that causes confusion, hyperfixation, and a state of hypnosis that increases in strength exponentially over time exposed. The process of viewing the light is midly pleasurable, increasing in intensity and even evloving into sexual pleasure with time. Their psychic ability allows them to comminucate telepathically, which allows them to speak to other species within a short range despite a language barrier, as well as influence thought and behavior if the targets will and consciousness is comprised. A Nahjrus uses these two abilities in tandem to mentally incapacitate and influence their victim to convince them to think, belive, or do things that they might not have done otherwise. If somebody is exposed to a Nahjrus influence for too long, the mental changes and suggestions psychically implanted could become permanent parts of their personality or memory. Nahjrus cannot typically psychically influence other Nahjrus, but it is possible if one has a very very strong psychic ability, like some of the top percentage of psychic power, while the other has one so weak it cannot repel the others force, but this circumstance is very rare. The city known as The Scale is divided socially into two parts, the high class area and the low class area. Both of these areas are livable and have prospering economies, they are just divided by wealth and social norms. The low class zone is very cyberpunk-ish with tall chrome buildings with neon signs glowing bright 24-7 and has a population of around 2,000,000,000. The tall screens on the buildings show constant ads for food, clothes, trends, Nahjrus celebrities and even occasionally hypnotic imagery, trying to weaken the mental state of those who might not be government sanctioned. This place is filled with fast food, trendy clothes, punk fashion, and lots of businesses like mechanics and other stores but brothels and strip clubs are the most popular businesses by far. Sketchy deals, drugs, the trade of hypnotized property, and graffiti go down all the time. It's truly a place of no-rules, except that it is all legal but the activities are just punkish and trendy so the low class Nahjrus just like it that way. Brothels and strip clubs are major economic powerhouses in the low class areas, meaning that the Nahjrus who runs one gains a lot of influence over an area of the community. Often, if word goes around that a Nahjrus has Reaped a new plaything, brothels or strip club owners will try and buy them out, with great success, and influence the hypnotized individual to work for them as a sex worker. The high class area is where most of the government officials work and live. This place is very clean and has more of a regal and pretentious feel to it and has a population of around 125,000 Nahjrus. Because most of the high ranking Nahjrus are female, about 98% of the population in the high class area are female. Fashion here is not so openly important, but professional and regal attire is a must if you are to live in this area. Because most of the females of this species are not as ravenously horns as the males, sex work is basically non existent in the upper class area. To live in the upper class area you either have to work very hard to get a government job, which is completely optional by the way, or be born into wealth. However, the females of the Nahjrus still very much enjoy the thrill of Reaping an unsanctioned visitor and are very skilled at it. Because the females need not much sexual gratification, they mostly just use their hypnotized people as pets, servants, or even just to look pretty like furniture or art. Honestly, being Reaped by a high class Nahjrus is a very nice lifestyle. They get great food, affection, live in a massive beautiful home, and even occasionally get the chance to sexually gratify their master.
